Who on the “right” watches this crap from the hedonists of America all praising themselves for playing fake roles day in and day out, AND then think we should listen to them pontificate to fly-over America about “our values”?
Who would watch a bunch of narcissistic America-haters walk around with a convincing, but false smile and congratulate each other for bringing this country down?

One positive spin that could possibly be applied is that this is evidence mental illness is on the decline. Maybe there’s hope...though these numbers should still be 90% lower.
I’m glad that Gary Oldman got the best actor for Churchill (read about it not watched). Stellar performance. Bought the DVD.

The politics is very bad; but, they don't care 'cause they know better (like Jennifer Lawrence who dropped out of MIDDLE SCHOOL). But, the real problem is the movies themselves. Who wants to see this crap?
The Shape of Water? Are you kidding me? Creature from the Black Lagoon was known as a B movie. Now we are giving Oscars to the remake? Gay movies, with gay sex scenes are not going to go over for most of the United States audience. The movies that Americans go to see, which at this point are few and far between, never get recognition from these people.
Hollywood has become an irrelevancy, and they did it to themselves, rather like the NFL. No one goes to these movies anymore. No one wants any of these movies in their personal collection at home. They couldn't give copies of these movies away.

2) Saw ‘Three Billboards’, what a joke. Critics slobbering over a muddled mess of a film. Can no one write a simple story anymore? Who wants to watch awards going to a bunch of (at best) mediocre films.
Nobody in ou home ever watches the Oscars. As a matter of fact, we would rather view foreign films now , than any prpaganda out of Hollywood. We no longer go to the US cinema, we mostly watch international movies and documentaries on Netflix.
When did we start that policy? When Broke Back Mountain came out, we decided we would rather preserve the tradition of John Wayne, Clint Eastwood, and the old Westerns. Real Cowboys rock!

A bunch of movies no one watched (Except Dunkirk which was so so) in a year when Hollywood is telling America to F off (more than usual cluelessness) an they are surprised?

I figured out, a couple of decades ago, that all the awards shows are just narcissists giving awards to other narcissists. Boring. That 3 Billboards had it’s funny moments, but it was not a riveting movie. I recently saw where Joaqiun Phoenix said he didn’t care if people went to his movies. These people are imbeciles.....does he think he will star in any more movies if nobody is coming to see him????

The 2008 Awards were hosted by Jon Stewart. I am not surprised that show had very low ratings.
My wife, who can tell you who is married to who (this week) in Hollywood, how many children they have, where they grew up, etc ... spent the evening watching “The Crown.” I said, you’re missing the Oscars I think. She just said “shhhh” and enjoyed the episode.
The 0scars are for people who think they will live forever and that the remedy for their ills is 24 hour sex. That is the mentality or lack of it. They act anyway they want because everyone is an actor, and when you are an actor you will never die because it’s acting. So in between acting is the 24 hour sex thing and maybe with some hard talk about contracts and ruling the world and then the oblivion thing again with 24 hour sex. Even managers and agents are this way because they are actors too, failed actors but actors. If there is not always room for sex, there are drugs which is like sex in a compartmentalized way, sex for the brain. So life rotates around the penis and pussy hats are great indicators that is what you are into.... morality is pretense for acting and the whole talk is about how real it was... These people don’t know reality from a hole in the ground. How did they become this way is another story and they hate Trump because they think he gets more sex than they do. It’s a dismal story really... but they are out there.
