On Thursday morning's "Ellen," Michelle Obama gave her very first live interview since she left the White House a year ago.
And in just the first few minutes on air, Michelle couldn't help but tell a BIG lie about Melania Trump, and "The Gift."
If you recall, on the day of Donald J. Trump's inuguaration, Melania Trump graciously presented a present to Mr. Obama -- from Tiffany's in New York City.
It was a lovely gesture. But you wouldn't have known it from Michelle -- who didn't seem pleased at all. In fact she acted like she had been handed a bag of dog poop...
No gratitude. No thanks. Just a horrified Michelle trying to get rid of it.
Well Mrs. Obama finally had an "explanation" for her infamous reaction, and told Ellen quite the story...

It was a pen and a Journal so Laura could write her memoirs.
Notice that she took that sucker, didn’t say thanks, and immediately looked away from Melania to get rid of it.
Then when she couldn’t hand it off, she held it flat out in front of her, to make it look as awkward as possible.
She could have held it on it’s side under her arm and it would have barely been noticed in the photo.
No need to comment. It’s just ‘out there’ who and what she is.

To be fair, it looks like it is supposed to be a photo op, and she is desperately looking around for someone to hold the gift. I give her a pass. There are many more things that are legitimate criticisms... like calling Beyoncé a role model!
