I dislike the O’bamas as much as anyone, but I think we’re reaching on this one. Michelle was not expecting to receive anything and had nothing to offer in return, which is always awkward. And on top of that they were there for a photo shoot and I think she was trying to find someone to hold the gift so they could all line up and take the picture.
If we are you going to be pissy about the pettiness of the Left when it comes to the Trumps, we need to be equally careful in our own attacks on the opposition.

What she did was very rude.
Handing it off to the Marine was definitely a fleeting thought when she turned around, looking for somewhere to dump it. At least it looked that way to me. I’m glad that Marine held the salute!

When are they not lying? To act that way when receiving a gift is typical for ungrateful jerks.
Two completely different circumstances, I believe. She did look totally surprised at Melania’s gift. When she gave her gift to Laura Bush, is it possible that it was a completely different situation? It does not look like it was going to be a photo op. Anyway, there are many, many, many, more things to criticize about the Obamas than a minor social faux pas. Rush even talked about it this morning, and I think it makes conservatives look petty and needlessly critical.
