9 Reasons It’s So Hard to Find a Good Man
Bolde.com ^ | Amanda Chatel

Posted on 09/15/2017 8:15:38 PM PDT by BJ1

If we get straight to the point and skip the BS that’s only used to soften the blow of painful facts, we can admit it’s hard to find a good man. Even if we take our standards, expectations, and delusional hopes off the table and really look at the situation for what it is, we can clearly see that we are not to blame for the lack of good men. No, we have society who can take the blame for this one.

Unfortunately, our culture has evolved in a way that has made finding a good man tough ― and they certainly don’t make them like they used to. So, why is it so damn hard to find an awesome guy who’s going to treat you right and not bail the first time temptation comes his way? Here are nine reasons.

1. Hookup culture has taken over. Although I would never knock hooking up, it has replaced dating and even relationships. Men don’t want to be with one woman only, if they have an entire buffet at their disposal.

2. People have too many options. While it’s good to have options, it can be bad when there are too many options. At any given moment a guy can sit down at a dating app and immediately have endless options of women from which to choose. Because of that, it’s hard for them to give one woman a shot for more than a hot minute.

3. Lots of guys are holding out for something “better.” It’s a sad thought, but in a world with so many options, people can become immersed in the idea that something better might be just around the corner. Because that’s the case, it’s hard to find a man who wants to commit when they’re thinking that the next woman they meet could be perfect ― whatever perfect is.

4. Marriage is becoming obsolete. Once upon a time, people couldn’t wait to get married. Although it was likely due to the fact that they would finally be able to have sex, the reality is that these days people are in no rush to get married, so therefore, they’re in no rush to get into a relationship or settle down. And if a guy’s friends aren’t married, he sure as hell won’t be the first one to do it.

5. Some men are intimidated by power. In comparison to the past few decades, women are more independent than ever. This success and power, for some reason, can be intimidating for some men who, perhaps, realize that they’ll never be the “man” his female partner is.

6. Technology has created distance. How can anyone possibly find a good man or anyone at all when we live in a world where technology rules and our most intimate relationships are with our iPhones? We can’t.

7. The “man-child” is a legitimate problem. A man-child is a just modern day term for a man who suffers from Peter Pan Syndrome: He does not want to grow up. If he grows up, he’d have to become responsible, get his act together, and even maybe find a girl and fall in love. Too many men just don’t want to do that.

8. Everyone has their baggage. No one is immune to having a rocky past, and sometimes that past can interfere with how that person moves forward ― if they move forward at all. Messy baggage can keep even the great guys in hiding for a long time.

9. Being phobic of commitment is accepted. We live in a world where being scared of commitment has simply become the norm. If a man doesn’t want to commit, people are rarely surprised. Since that’s the case, they’ll just keep on skipping out on commitment and sticking to hookup culture, because it’s so accepted.

I do feel for you brother. The women have a way of getting you to believe them.

It is written.

I went through a legal system myself and you obviously speak from experience. When we split the the time 50/50 I had to pay my ex $600 a month, when she abandoned them with me, I still had to pay the $600 a month. After 2 years of tangling with the legal system, hiring a lawyer, and going to court, I finally got the state off my back. Even though I have both kids full time she pays NOTHING.

I agree with you about the Asian wives. They want that green card and bring their family over. Divorce the guy. Say he is too poor for her.

"Let the women marry the government."

Yep. We as a society screwed it up. Western Civilization spent thousands of years working out a set up rules and relationships that worked. It encouraged stable families with lots of kids. God (the church), family and community arbitrated the marital disputes and saw to it that everyone came out at least somewhat okay even in the rare event of a divorce. But then we let the govt into the equation and the next thing you know men are afraid to get married and then put into virtual slavery by the govt. Women respond by shacking up in short term relationships that provide them no support in middle and old age and kids are left being raised by half-crazed females in temporary homes with no discipline. Yep. We screwed it up good.

The best advice is NEVER marry someone you love. Marry someone who loves you.

I’m betting that a lot of women hope to find good men in bars and clubs.
And then are shocked that they can’t find a good man.

I’d wager that eye-roll that’s so evident in her photo is something she considers ironic, but something that any guy would be sick of less than six months in because you’d see it every time you uttered a single word.

Written by a woman.
1. Why marry when you could lose half your assets or more in a divorce.
2. Why commit when you have a fair chance of seeing your parents and certainly other relatives getting divorced if middle class, parents revolving through other partners if not married.
3. Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?
4. The guys who did want to marry tended to do so in their 20s while empowered women were dropping good guys to focus on career, and like a game of musical chairs, now wonder why there are only divorcees and never-gonna-commit guys left.
5. Women are still hardwired to marry up. When you crowded guys out of college (60%+ female now), now you wonder where your equally educated mate is. You shoved him into the skilled trades or unemployment.
6. Women voted for discrimination against guys in the workplace in addition to education acceptance, funding and hiring. If he’s employed, it is more likely in a good paying dirty job and you consider that beneath you.
7. You’re an empowered feminist, proudly announcing your better than a man. While there are men who will sleep with you and tell you you’re powerful for doing so, few will want to STAY with you. They’ll choose a girl who is happy to be with them as equals (or less), not criticize them for not being everything she wants.

Really wish I could offer you hope that, though rare, not all women are after a mans money even in divorce proceedings. Some simply walk away because they recognize it's a loosing battle for all concerned when there is divorce...divorce is never a clean break..and generally nasty in one way or another. But I do think that women have an innate 'need' to feel 'secure' in their husbands love which I've, more times then not, noted few men understand this or how to go about doing so. And equally as much noted women don't identify this when it is given and shown. Well it's too late for me to think clear minded on this...but enough saying I wouldn't throw all women in the same basket, I actually have a friend who's husband set her up soon after they were married. People find a way that suites them if they really want to spend their life together.

Just find a woman that hates you, buy her a house, then give her half your pay until she thinks you paid enough

....” The point is made the same in today’s society for both sexes”....

Lots of self-centeredness in todays society truly amplifies this.... High expectations as well...few want to spend the time getting to know people... texting isn’t a relationship it’s a demanding alarm!

You should read about a guy named Sysphus; if’s a legend but it fits here.

......”If these wymmyn want a better chance at finding a good man, start by not turning your body into a giant flesh-eating bacteria billboard known as tattooing”.......

That could be said for men as well.....although mens military tattoo’s would of course be exempt. Otherwise they still have that look of low lifers for some reason....they do tend to point that direction when they’re covered with them.
