Senators Tom Cotton and Ben Sasse have already been to Iowa this year, Gov. John Kasich is eyeing a return visit to New Hampshire, and Mike Pences schedule is so full of political events that Republicans joke that he is acting more like a second-term vice president hoping to clear the field than a No. 2 sworn in a little over six months ago.
President Trumps first term is ostensibly just warming up, but luminaries in his own party have begun what amounts to a shadow campaign for 2020 as if the current occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue werent involved.
The would-be candidates are cultivating some of the partys most prominent donors, courting conservative interest groups and carefully enhancing their profiles. Mr. Trump has given no indication that he will decline to seek a second term.
But the sheer disarray surrounding this presidency, the intensifying investigation by the special counsel Robert S. Mueller III and the plain uncertainty about what Mr. Trump will do in the next week, let alone in the next election, have prompted Republican officeholders to take political steps that are unheard-of so soon into a new administration.
Asked about those Republicans who seem to be eyeing 2020, a White House spokeswoman, Lindsay Walter, fired a warning shot: The president is as strong as hes ever been in Iowa, and every potentially ambitious Republican knows that.
But in interviews with more than 75 Republicans at every level of the party, elected officials, donors and strategists expressed widespread uncertainty about whether Mr. Trump would be on the ballot in 2020 and little doubt that others in the party are engaged in barely veiled contingency planning.
They see weakness in this president, said Senator John McCain, Republican of Arizona. Look, its not a nice business were in.

Imagine the rally crowds!
You are right, it is delusional. However they will not realize it until they FEEL the boot of the average American stomping their face.
Mark my words you safe-space, gender-confused elites, if we have to come after you for stealing our money, rights, and freedoms we will not be interested in talking to you about it. We will shoot you and all of you buddies until we get our rights and freedoms, those that or ancestors right and died for, back.
F*ck the Uniparty.
blah blah blah New York Times. Not buying your “75” of anything. Not buying any implied conflict between Pence and Trump. Ya’ll been trying that game since Bannon. Not buying anything from anyone who advertises in your newspaper, either. Fake news pimps.
Remember when Trump said he could shoot somebody and people would still vote for him?Still stands today only stronger!
^^^^^^This times 1000!! QFT and a very basic point the doom and gloom crowd completely overlooks. Neither the potential D-Rat candidates nor the Never-Trumpers can generate anything close to what Trump achieved in November. Just one look at a county-by-county red/blue map should shut down most of the funding any candidate would attempt to get. Those who bankrolled H! are still crying in their beer about their negative ROI and being deceived by a poor candidate running a poor campaign.
In 2020, I will again vote for Trump.
I skip over any article posted here from the NYT or Washington Post. They have nothing to report that I can even believe.
Voters Make Moves for 2018 as Republican Party Doubts Grow
I am sure, the vast majority of Freepers will not read anything from them either. I sometimes wonder why the articles get posted at all?
Nimrata Randhawa (aka Nikki Haley) is NOT a natural born Citizen. She is the daughter of two Indian foreign nationals.
Total fake news.
When they name ONE source, you can take it seriously.
The best part of this is that the scum on the left believe there is some chance this will happen.
Drudge extremely butthurt by Breitbart. So he won’t cite ANY BB articles.
It’s more a jealousy than a left-wing thing.
They poo-pooed Trump during the campaign while totally ignoring the huge crowds showing up for his rallies. The crowds are still showing up where ever he goes. The NYT was wrong then and they are wrong now. The NYT continues to report and promote their agenda. It’s called propaganda in the real world of journalism.
Lots of reasons for the rallies but I think he has the time of his life and just loves doing them..
NYT is composed of a lying pack-of-fools.
Senators and congress,em fail to understand why Trump won.
1.Insiders need not apply
2.your word is useless

4.You can never be trusted
5.Socialism is a prison
“The would-be candidates are cultivating some of the partys most prominent donors . . .”
That’s the whole story right there - the donor class wants someone in the Oval Office who carries out their orders, and Trump isn’t it.
Just pure contempt for the Deploables.
Do you even read FR? This crap has already been posted about six times!
