Energy Secretary Rick Perry says he does not believe carbon dioxide is a primary contributor to global warming, a statement at odds with mainstream scientific consensus but in line with the head of the Environmental Protection Agency.
Perry was asked Monday on CNBCs Squawk Box whether carbon emissions are primarily responsible for climate change and said no.
He added that the most likely the primary control knob is the ocean waters and this environment that we live in.

True. Well, and then there's the sun. That probably has something to do with it.

The prime driver of warming is the energy received from the Sun. So, wrong.

Funny how the global warming alarmists seem to forget that big fusion reactor up in the sky. And the sun, for reasons as yet unknown, does go thru cycles where its output diminishes. With a long enough spell, you get an ice age on Earth. In fact, we're still recovering from the last ice age.

"The prime driver of warming is the energy received from the Sun. So, wrong." I agree.
In fact, the year 1816, the year without a summer, is evidence that political correct AGW is science fiction imo.

Mainstream scientific consensus, they’re the folks who shout down, then boot out, any scientist who disagrees with global warming.

It was mainstreamed artificially by the granting of funds to research it. But the the idea itself was scientifically dead as soon as the the lag between temp and CO2 started showing up in the ice core data over a decade ago.

You think? Is that why planets closer to the sun are warmer than those farther away? Be careful with this line of thinking. Planet Mercury is closest to the sun but Venus is hotter, and this because Mercury has no atmosphere.
