My wonderful step-father (WW2 Vet) is experiencing delusions. He has Macular Dejeneration and Dementia. Noticed, today, he thinks people are "in the household ". Very agitated.
Talked to many "people" in the room.

Thank you for that. I couldn’t think of what I should pray. Very nice.
Indeed
later.
My mom was in the ER for heart arythmia. They had given her drugs but they wound up not working. I got there about 10am and by noon she kept saying there was someone - a man sitting in a wheelchair just outside the big glass window of ICU. She mentioned him more than once - she was concerned that someone just left him there. She said he had been there most of the night. Even though the chair was empty I went out of the room for a look. They came in to shock her heart followed by the priest and we had to leave the room. She did not make it. I just figured it was an angel sitting in the chair making sure she was not alone until the rest of us got there.
Omaha Beach on that day would not have been my vision of Heaven, and i seriously doubt it was his.
My Mother simply wasn't listening closely enough to realise what was going on. i realised that he was re-living that day.
He acquired two more Purple Hearts before that war was over. The last one cost him his right eye from complications 25 years later.
He didn't want to live the way he was, and did his best to make sure he didn't without committing suicide.
My mother died two years later, in large part due to grief. They only had six days together after she retired.
TY! I’m off to the hospital. He fell early this morning.
Just make sure you use unsalted butter.

FATHER GOD,
We agree with the petitions offered by MAUDEEN on behalf of this loving family.
May Your LOVE and PEACE that passes understanding that comes only from You fall upon each and every one.
GOD’S will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
In JESUS’ Name we pray. Amen.
Amen. Father, we also pray for all of the caregivers for this gentlemen. Give them Your wisdom, skill and understanding. Show them how to minister to him—spirit, soul and body—as Your instruments of love. Thank You, Sir.
Ugh, I’m sorry to hear that. Please keep us posted when you can on any updates.
UTIs common in elderly women, too. Thinking, reasoning, balance gets off kilter and there can be a LOT of falling down. Often with the elderly UTIs don’t present as many of us understand — pain when urinating, etc.
Mom, 93, experienced them so often I’d say they were chronic. About 1-1/2 years ago she started taking something called d-mannose and never had another UTI.
Just got back from the hospital. 3” gash on his head. Staples (w/o Lidocaine.....ouch). Still psychotic. Fought with nurses and doc to leave. They sedated him with a diazepam shot. Totally out of character for him.
Got him home but had to call the fire dept. to lift him into the house. Dead weight. I have a bad back and so does the day nurse. Given tranquilizers for evenings. Psych eval is not off the table.
One day at a time.
Thank you all for your prayers. Means a lot. He’s like a father to me and I adore him.
Thank you for the update. Continued prayers for you and your stepfather during this difficult and trying time.
May God intervene for the good of everyone involved, bringing peace, strength and blessed assurance! Amen!
TY!
(((((Sending Heartfelt Prayers)))))
TY!
Prayers up for you and your family.
TY! We just sent him to the hospital, again. Psychotic. On our way, now.
