I can think of an obvious snarky comment, but I’ll just say RIP and thanks for the acting.

Waiting on first wise ass to put up the “Well, bye.” meme. Rest in peace, the man who could act pure evil better than just about anyone. Probably a sweetheart and a mensch in real life.

Great actor. Southern Comfort is my favorite Powers Boothe movie.

In 1980, he won an Emmy for lead actor in a limited series or special for playing cult leader Jim Jones in CBS' Guyana Tragedy: The Story of Jim Jones. He won that award during an actors strike and chose to cross the picket line to accept his trophy, saying, "This may be either the bravest moment of my career or the dumbest."The bravest and the smartest.

LOVED this actor!! Not only as Jim Jones, but his best performance in the BEST film he was in, and one of the best films I have ever seen, John Boorman’s THE EMERALD FOREST> and that film is not even mentioned in the Hollywood Reporter piece linked!

Very sad news. He was very good as the Vice President on 24.

RIP MR Boothe. I enjoyed your acting in both Red Dawn and by Dawn’s early light.

He was fantastic as Philip Marlowe in the HBO series “Philip Marlow, Private Eye” back in the 1980’s. RIP Mr Boothe

He had major on-screen charisma! Loved him in so many roles. It’s a sad day for me too realize that he’s gone.
