He was fantastic as Philip Marlowe in the HBO series “Philip Marlow, Private Eye” back in the 1980’s. RIP Mr Boothe
I liked that series as well.
They really captured the 1930s "look" and atmosphere.
At the time, I even bought one of those brass fans he had in his office, because it looked so cool.
He was good in even small roles like in "Cruising" with Al Pacino, as the oily handkerchief/porn dealer, where he tells Pacino what each type of "color" meant if you carry it in your pocket.
Loved those shows.
