Headline News has always been fame news program too.
My default position: it’s fake news unless otherwise PROVEN.
BTW, that includes most programs on Faux News.
I agree, but I’d argue this is true about all news/opinion that’s coming from people who are being paid by corporations.
There are tons of people to get news from that are not being payed by corporations. Thankfully these people are gaining popularity very fast!
I’ve not had television since 1997, but am occasionally exposed to it. Last year I was staying at a friend’s house in the Seattle area and got to watch Good Morning America. I call it the “People Magazine Show.”
I learned two things that day:
1. Those shows have NOTHING to arouse any interest in me, except for one thing.
2. That one thing is that I was fascinated to see what a great marketer and business person Taylor Swift is.
I took action much later than many freepers, but I recently cancelled Cable TV entirely. There are no TV shows I want to watch, and the News is complete garbage.
What surprised me is that Verizon didn’t even give me a hard time:
Me: “I want to cancel my cable subscription.”
Verizon: “Okay, what day do you want it to stop?”
I got the feeling that they were used to that sort of phonecall.
They are ALL good for nothing
I saw Chuck Todd on NBS this morning and he did 30 seconds straight monologue on how trump is this and that and has no credibility and is a liar and is having a disaster for his first hundred days=- when they question was a YES or NO question
The media has a credibility rating of 32%!!!!!!!!!!!
Everything on CBS is subtle or not-so-subtle Marxist propaganda I am not exaggerating.
We’ve never had credible TV news. TV news makes money the same way sitcoms do: selling your eyeballs to advertisers. So their focus is to get you to stay through the commercial break. The entire industry is bogus and has been since day one.
I remember when CBS Sunday Morning was very entertaining.
That was the era of Charles Kuralt and to a lessor extent Charles Osgood.
To me it had that PBS “This Old House” Show feel. A Show full of Liberals but no overt Political sway. Lots of folksy NE accents and a Small Town vibe. Just listening to Kuralt was a pleasure.
Hard to describe, but you could sit there sipping on your morning Coffee feeling all warm and fuzzy without a care in the world. At least that’s how I remember it.
Now we have Jane Pauley, wife of Conservative / Republican / Trump hater Garry Trudeau, the Doonesbury Cartoonist Hosting the Show.
I have no interest in watching now. The recent hit job against Conservatives by Ted Koppel was the icing in the Cake for me.
As far as any of the other Morning Shows, they are nothing but Liberal lovefests, same as all the Network Entertainment Shows and more recently the Local Newscasts.
I can watch any of those Shows for five minutes or less and fell the Liberal Bias seeping into my Brain.

I never understood how anyone could watch those morning ‘news’ shows. Too much like ‘Entertainment Tonight’.
Last weekend CBS Sunday Morning had an interview with Sean Hannity by Ted Koppel. They aired about 1-1/2 minutes of the 45-50 minute interview with Sean. He foolishly did not record the interview himself and CBS (i.e. See BS) refuses to provide the original tape.
Charles Osgood retired from hosting the Sunday morning show last fall. I always considered him liberal but fair and enjoyed listening to him on the AM radio dial back in my 70’s college days. His replacement is Jane Pauley was host of NBC’s Today show in the 1980’s. Although her credentials also go way back, in my opinion she is tainted by her marriage to serious Trump hater and of all things conservative, cartoonist Garry Trudeau, the creator of Doonesbury.

"We're [television industry] in the boredom-killing business. We deal in illusion, man; none of it is real! We'll tell you any sh!t you want to hear!"
I'm kind of glad that network news shows no longer pretend to be fair or lay claim to 'hard-hitting reporting' or 'investigative journalism' and that they've done away with the Huntley-Brinkley/Cronkite model of serious avuncular newsmen one can 'trust'.
Now we're given straight-up brash buffoons; if we view them as anything other than the clowns they are, the fault lies with us.
