Enceladus south pole is wounded, bleeding heat and water. Its injury may have come from a huge rock smashing into this frigid moon of Saturn less than 100 million years ago, leaving the area riddled with leaky cracks.
The region near Enceladus south pole marks one of the solar systems most intriguing mysteries. It spews plumes of liquid from an interior ocean, plus an enormous amount of heat. The south poles heat emission is about 10 gigawatts higher than expected equivalent to the power of 4000 wind turbines running at full capacity. The rest of the moon, though, is cold and relatively homogeneous.
We dont have a really good explanation for why all this activity is so concentrated, says John Spencer at the Southwest Research Institute in Colorado.
On most icy moons and ocean worlds, the main heat source is the tide: the worlds are stretched by the gravity of their parent bodies and neighbours, which causes internal heat.
If it was heated by tides, the north and south should look the same, says Angela Stickle at Johns Hopkins University in Maryland. So the fact that Enceladuss south has these crazy regions with plumes and heat flows is enigmatic.

Interesting photo and video at link.
“equivalent to the power of 4000 wind turbines running at full capacity. “
Or like 5 coal plants
Hmmm. Sounds like GOD’S design to me.
It looks like it has thrusters. Sure it isn’t the/a Death Star?
The rest of the moon is frozen cold but that one area is hot?
Results of a 100 million year old impact event?
I don’t know. Sounds more like an alien nuke reactor having issues :)

Ah shucks. Just missed it. Most have turned my head for a moment or stopped to clean my telescope’s len.
What are that moons orbital mechanics today after sustaining a huge kinetic hit? What is its declination from normal orbit and difference in axis to other moons of Saturn. They may be correct but until explained in detail, I call BRAVO SIERRA.
The fact this is happening at the South Pole indicates to me it is a function of the planet that we do not understand at present. Why the South Pole when you have a whole damn planet or rather moon’s surface to show this phenomenon?

My ex wife perhaps. However she was very petite so I guess it was not her.
If you want on or off the Electric Universe Ping List, Freepmail me.
We could use that 10 gigawatts of energy to our advantage when we harvest the helium 3 from Saturn which can be used for fuel for nuclear fusion reactions with applications in energy generation and weapons. The amount of helium-3 on Jupiter would supply mankind with all of its energy needs for billions of years.
Thanks for the ping!
Very interesting. Thanks for posting.
