Students at Wayne State University no longer have to take a single math course to graduate, and may soon be required to take a diversity course, instead.
“This decision was made largely because the current (math) requirement is at a level already required by most high school mathematics curriculum," the school explained in an announcement to students obtained by The Detroit Free Press.
“What we’re finding is a lot of students need remediation in math. They’re not at a high school level.” Tweet This
According to The Daily Caller, WSU asserts on its website that its general education “provides a shared educational experience that imparts knowledge and expertise essential for all undergraduate students regardless of their major or interests.” However, almost one-third of WSU students have to take remedial classes during their first year at the school, which would suggest that many students could benefit from taking high school-level math courses at the university.

This trend is already showing up in everyday life when clerks and office managers can’t do simple math in their heads.
Increasingly college is becoming an utter waste of money. Universities are nothing but leftist indoctrination centers with no other meaningful purpose except to transfer vast sums of one’s future earnings to today’s ponytailed professors.
If they made PI an even 3 instead of 3.14 it would be a lot easier to figure out circles and balls. Maybe that is their problem.

I will start believing they really want “diversity” when they start diversifying their employees with conservatives. Half the country is conservative, so by that measure, half of their staff should be conservative!

I was behind two college students in line at the grocery store who I assume were roommates splitting the bill. The clerk announced the total ($114), and one of them had to whip out a calculator to divide the tab in half.
Just give everyone a PhD in African-Studies and move them out the door. We don’t need any engineers anyway.

It means that employers will not take a diploma seriously from this school.Too bad snowflakes,but the world still needs janitors and fast food workers.
Thing about cursive is signing my name is the only thing I could do in cursive now. That is after years of doing block lettering on the drafting board.
