Tragedy as man drinks an entire bottle of tequila in one go to win a $630 bet and DIES moments later

It was the bet to end all bets, and ultimately a man's life.

A 23-year-old man died from alcohol poisoning after chugging an entire bottle of tequila in a Dominican nightclub.

Kelvin Rafael Mejía decided to down the lot as part of a friendly wager between friends.

The insane bet was all caught on camera and then posted online.

Even when I was young and stupid, I never took a bet that involved drinking. Yes, I got plastered from time to time, but I HATED that room-spinning-nausea feeling.

I agree. People calling him an idiot either forgot when they were young or had boring youth.

I did insane things and am luckily still here.

Did 22 shots of Tequila in a money contest, maybe over an hour or less.

Played monopoly afterwords and wet to a nightclub later on.

But that’s not the same as chugging a bottle!!!

Sadly this goes on more often than you think. In my younger days, I engaged in this kind of stupidity with my equally stupid buddies. One night in particular when I was in the Marines, we were at an off-base bar and got into a shot-drinking contest. I woke up in the middle of the night in an alley outside the bar passed out and had absolutely no idea how I got there. I was covered in my own vomit. Last thing I remember was that a couple of my fellow Marines stripped naked and hung upside down from the rafters. They ended up getting arrested and they lost a stripe over it in NJP (non-judicial punishment). Somehow I managed to get back on base and cleaned up for morning formation but to this day, I have no idea how I ended up outside the bar while others were inside getting arrested. It was my one and only alcohol induced "blackout."

Never understood why it is considered "manly" to handle copious amounts of hard liquor but peer pressure when you are 19 or so is hard to resist.
