It’s very likely that snake started at her left ear. Had clear sailing in through her head - across her empty brain - and exited through her right ear. Where it then ran into difficulty as it got stuck in that earlobe hole.

Quite a few years ago I was working in a temporary free clinic near the Oregon coast. A guy came in with a horrible staph infection in one of his earlobes, inflamed many times the normal size and oozing puss. It was obvious that the infection had been caused by some sort of piercing. When I asked him what he’d been sticking through his ear, he reached into his pocket and pulled out a chicken leg bone that clearly had come from a prior meal of his. After cleaning up his infection and explaining the importance of making sure to take the full course of antibiotics, he asked if it was alright to put the chicken leg back into his ear!!!
