I’d never thought about that, but the Klingons were a stand-in for the Russians, so you could be on to something. Also, the Romulans and Vulcans had a common origin, so maybe the Vulcans were supposed to be like the Japanese and other Asians that allied with us, with the Romulans representing the Chinese and others that sided with the Russians.
Though, I think they were more political caricatures. They didn’t really try to give the alien races in TOS any kind of close resemblance to races on Earth.
Well, except for the ones that are super-predators. Illary doesn’t think they’re lazy.

The Roma are from India. They migrated out of India into Europe and were called Gypsies. My dad was 13 years old in 1930, lived in the Polish section of Chicago and had a negative view of the Gypsies. I grew up in north west Georgia, USA and have had zero 1st hand knowledge of the Roma. The Cher song tramps and thieves may be partly accurate. Of course, there were lots of weird behaviors going on in 1930. Great Depression and such.
If you’re still in NW Georgia or anywhere near South Carolina, watch out for the Murphys. They’re gypsies and run home repair scams. Roofing and paving, primarily. They’ve been in SC for decades.
