It’s all in the turn.
I think that’s going to shift westward.
I hope it doesn’t come to Texas. I’ve got a camping trip on the beach planned for the weekend of the 9th.
I’ll cry like a baby if it hits NJ/VA/PA.
Have plans that I was VERY looking forward to starting on the 7th.
Let’s hope neither are affected and no one gets hurt.
That thing will be long gone by the 9th.
Looks like I’m gonna be blessed with a little more rain.
Mike’s Weather Page should be in every SE coasties’ bookmarks during storm season.
Love the website and refer to it often.
Come on rain. We need you here in Atlanta.
Into every life a little rain must fall.................
I don't know what a tropical depression means technically but in practical terms, it means rain that we need. For us, that's a good thing. We've had very little rain this last month. Our pastures need rain for the grass to grow so the cows can eat.
So far in August, we've only had 4" of rain, hardly enough to keep this sandy soil wet for very long. Folks around here say that we are only 15 minutes away from a drought because of that fast draining sandy soil.
In August 2015 by comparison, we had TOO MUCH rain. 21" in one month. Everything was soggy. Only got one cutting of hay up in early fall because the fields were too muddy to get the hay equipment out in them.
But that's farming for ya'.....
Looks like 9” in the next 5 days. That help or hurt?
My bet is on a CAT1 hurricane. A lot of the model forecast this.
Anyone know what is Joe “Don’t-forget-the-I” Bastardi saying?
He has a pretty good record of nailing storm tracks.
9" no problem. The soil drains so rapidly here, that is can downpour 3" in a thunderstorm and an hour later, the grass is dry enough to mow.
Hurricane Watch for Florida west coast.
We are in the middle of the peninsula so we usually get rain and some wind. But unless it's a big one, we don't do anything different. Just another day on the farm.
The rain is going to be south of the storm. Tampa Bay area, I don’t think a lot of people in Tampa experienced a real storm in a long time. There has been so much flooding in the area with the little storm ones lately. Hate to see the mess this one brings.
