In 28 years with the Nebraska State Patrol, Trooper Bill Price said he's never encountered a car like the one he stopped Thursday afternoon.
The car was completely made of wood. Yes, wood. Cedar to be exact.
“Price did not give the driver - who retained his American citizenship and still had a valid Virginia drivers license - a ticket. He noted that everything about the car, including the headlights, taillights, wipers and horn, were all legal and licensed.”
Somebody didn’t read the article :P
Yeah, I think that would completely defeat the purpose of having a lambo.
The parabolic reflectors in the headlights are the main reflectors of radar. An actual test by Motorcyclist magazine many years ago showed that big Harleys with tiny chopper headlamps were harder to detect than much smaller bullet bikes with those big dual headlamps. The results were consistent. The more the area of headlamp reflectors the further away the bikes could be detected. The physical sizes of the bikes’ frontal areas had no effect.
All I saw was a link to 2 pictures, 1 of which mentioned it was built on the body of an 85' Fiero.
The Morgan had a wooden frame. An old friend has a Bugatti touring car with a Rosewood body.
i had one entirely made of bondo once.
Two days?
Ergo, you had to pull up the lever to set the brake, disengage the lever and lower it to exit the car.
Likewise, to release the brake, the lever was raised and engaged, then lowered.
Bogus list. Doesn’t have any soapboxes in it...
The Fiero was pretty innovative in a lot of ways. Unfortunately it was introduced in ‘84 and the new Corvette sucked all the oxygen out of the room that year getting an overwhelming amount of the automotive press’s attention. The early Fiero also suffered from a very weak powerplant which was addressed within a few years, but in true Pontiac form, they cancelled the car just after they finally got it right.
“Two days? “
Or, like some of the cars I’ve had: Never.
I grew up in northern Michigan. Back in the 50’s there was a lumber yard in town and a guy named Cedrick who had built an actual wooden car worked there. Unfortunately the building burned down along with the car that was parked next to it.........
When I was getting ready to go into the Reserves from Active Duty I bought a 1980 VW Rabbit Diesel for the economical value.
The only way it would go over 60 is if I drove it over a tall cliff.
Born in Grand Rapids, myself. I guess that is not “northern”?
The body must have rusted out. With the old GMs, the car usually went long before the engine and drive train.
Did I make any reference to Grand Rapids and it's not being "northern"?
But to address your statement, no, I do not consider Grand Rapids as being part of "northern" Michigan in the sense that Traverse City, Grayling, Gaylord, Boyne City, Petoskey and all points north are.......
The new Morgan Aero roadsters are enticing.
Hope you’ve been invited for springtime drive in that custom coachwork Bugatti Touring....old geezer sigh.
