Ted Cruz Names Friends, but Silence From G.O.P. Brass Deafens (Stand Down Cruz, Unite with Donald)
New York Times ^ | March 27, 2016 | By JONATHAN MARTIN and MATT FLEGENHEIMER

Ted Cruz was naming friends.

Seated for an interview inside a stately Midtown Manhattan library, just south of Trump Tower, the Texas senator leaned forward in his chair, ticking off the unlikely coalition drifting his way.

There was Jeb Bush, who announced his endorsement in a terse predawn news release, and Mitt Romney, who initially said his support applied only to his voting preference in Utah.

Mr. Cruz had swung Mike Lee, his greatest ally in the Senate, nearly a year after his campaign began, and Mark Levin, a conservative radio host who recently made his longstanding admiration on the airwaves official.

(delete of three paragraphs from quoted text, please see full article for full text)

While the Romney and Bush endorsements drew headlines, what has been just as striking is the sound of silence from the vast majority of Republican elected officials and leading donors. Nearly two weeks after Senator Marco Rubio dropped out of the race, there has been no mass rush to Mr. Cruz, even as he appears to be the last line of defense against a Trump nomination.

The decision by so many leading Republicans to remain on the sidelines is all the more notable because it appears inversely proportional to the scale of concern about Mr. Trump. His recent attacks on Mr. Cruz’s wife and soaring unpopularity among women, minorities and college-educated voters have left many in the party more convinced than ever that, with Mr. Trump as their standard-bearer, they are churning toward a political iceberg this fall.

But this fear has not been enough to coax them in Mr. Cruz’s direction.

Cruz needs to stand down.

The GOP needs to unite, and beat Hillary.

Enough is enough. Stand down Cruz.

I agree. Cruz needs to stand down as he does not have a chance to win the nomination.

So you’re saying the problem with Cruz is that he’s been standing up too much?

Even a Vegan will duck into a butcher’s shop to get out of a hailstorm. Doesn’t make them a meat eater. Just because the “establishment” is reluctantly backing Cruz doesn’t mean he’s a RINO.

I keep seeing the words “attacking his wife” about Heidi, but never saw an attack. “Spill the beans” is an attack?

The GOPe knew the bimbo eruption was coming and tried to deflect it thru lies.

They failed miserably, and the scandal will end the Cruz campaign.

Non eligible, not Natural Born Citizen, Cuban-Canadian, Pinocchio Ted attacking Big Donald at CNN freestyle match.

Cruz "character":

1. Phony summonses mailed out, scaring people to vote for Cruz.

2. Claiming Carson quit, presinc captains told voters "vote for Cruz"

3. Campaigning in the 800 churches, showing video "vote for me" with his preacher/father stomping for him. Rafael Cruz is a Seven Mountain Dominionist and believes his son is the anointed one.

4. "Brilliant" lawyer, did not know he was Canadian citizen and that he is not Natural Born Citizen, not eligible for office of P or VP.

5. Making phony video advertising with lies about opponents.

Just enough to beat Trump in IA, apologize, rinse and repeat?
Liar is the polite term for this Cuban. His father was pro-communist in Cuba, imprisoned by Batista, but now he is refugee?

IRREFUTABLE AUTHORITY HAS SPOKEN

(Oct. 18, 2009) The Post & Email has in several articles mentioned that the Supreme Court of the United States has given the definition of what a "natural born citizen" is. Since being a natural born citizen is an objective qualification and requirement of office for the U.S. President (and VP), it is important for all U.S. Citizens to understand what this term means.

I (completely) agree.

The entire establishment is setting up Cruz.

The thing is, they will (all) bail as soon as that is set-up. Every one of them, and they will all try to re-establish the old GOP.

That is exactly what we all do not want. A whole huge number of us voted for Trump, and he is winning.

Cruz you need to stand down this time.

Re-establish your relationship with Donald Trump, and start thinking about another run if four or eight years. It the meantime, Trump will look out for you.

But Cruz needs to stand down, this time.

Cruz needs to stand down.

You know, Trump supporters have been claiming it is time for Cruz to stand down since the first primaries. Could it be that is the only way Trump can get the nomination?

So far Landslide Donald has won about 37% of the votes cast. Of course, when the vote is being divided among multiple candidates all you need is a little more than a third of the voters to win. If Trump could at least start winning more than half of the voters in any state he would have a hell of a better claim to being the consensus candidate.

Maybe Trump needs to stand down.

Why does he need to stand down? Can’t Trump win on his own merit?

The Cruz scandal has the GOPe written all over it.

Ted got the big head and thought he was going to take the nomination all by his lonesome at the convention.

They knew all about his lille trysts and now they are telling him “we didn’t go to all this trouble for you, Ted”.

They have already let Trump know they are going to take away his nomination, but Ted thought he was going to be The Won.

Trump is way ahead of Cruz.

It is time for Cruz to recognize that Trump got the momentum in this election.

He is not going to be president. He just won’t. He’s however likely to knock off Trump also, if he continues as present, then the entire GOP establishment is back in business.

I don’t really believe anyone of FR wants that.

Do you?
