we go there and it is much cheaper than most other places.
Took me a while, but I finally convinced my son to shop there for his family.
He can’t believe how much money he saves.
I bet prices go up.
My company sells milk to Aldi’s. They sell it for a dollar less than they pay for it. It’s a loss leader for them as they make their money elsewhere
My college granddaughter found it near her....loves it...
I just saw this on their door last week.
Don’t buy much there because it’s mostly highly processed “food,” but their coffee is good.
Hubby must be doing the happy dance. He loves that place, but hates carrying cash.
I haven’t been going there much because having to use cash. But now I will be a regular. I bet this actually doubles their customer base.
They have the best price on rock-bottom cheap wine. Theirs is called “Winking Owl,” but it’s the same as “Oak Leaf” and other <$3 brands.
I hope prices don’t go up. We love Aldi. There organic selection is fantastic.
Their vacuum packed sirloin steaks are $4.99/lb. In other local stores, $7.99/lb.
Usually very tender, little gristle, 1-1/2” thickness.
Eggs about $1/doz less than at other stores.
I was first introduced to Aldi when stationed in Germany, their stateside stores are run essentially the same as there. In particular I like their special buy items, you can pick up decent housewares there at very reasonable cost. Lately though they’ve been cutting back on the amount of items they carry from Germany. 10 years ago they had a lot of foodstuffs but now its hit and miss though at Christmastime they have a great selection of German items. I wish they’d bring back the spaetzle (German egg noodles).
I hate that store. When are they going to accept checks? Everybody else does. And when are they going to allow you to use a cart without a fee, (Yes, I know that the fee is refundable at the end, but I think it is insulting.) Their prices are not that good. Costco, Sam’s, Piggly Wiggly, and Sendik’s (a local, high end chain) all provide motorized carts for the handicapped, take checks as well as all other forms of credit. Not sure about Meijer because they’ve only recently opened and I haven’t explored them yet. I’ll leave Aldi to the folks who like to be perpetually abused.
One of my favorite dutch oven meals is Cornish game hens, rice, veggies and chicken broth. Just made it last weekend with Aldi Hens while camping.
Mmmmm.Mmmmm
Credit cards work on a percentage per sale basis prices might go up here after they begin accepting them.
CC processing just isn’t that expensive vs handling checks or cash
I have two almost adult teens who eat me out of house and home even if I do wally world for my shopping. I can buy five straight nights of meals that fill their bottomless pits (and it’s not “junk”) for 70 bucks. That would also include some (not so healthy) off market pop-tarts and cereals along with the milk, etc..Thank God they are in my area because I have noticed a serious uptick in my savings as a result.
I freakin’ love Aldi...!
The prices on miscellaneous hardware/houseware gadgets can’t be beat.
Paid $4.99 for foo-foo bread at a leading chain.
Aldi’s foo-foo bread is $1.79.
I freakin’ love Aldi...!
