I go to the Aldi near us. they have some things that are not available elsewhere, and I get a chuckle out of the quarter deposit for the shopping cart.

They also carry some brands you normally only see in Europe. Austrian chocolate, for example. I picked up a packet of dark roast coffee at a fraction the price and better than Starbuck’s crap. Makes the best stove top espresso. Interesting place to shop.

I like Aldi's but hate the godawful long lines. Unlike Wal-Mart, they are nice about opening extra check-out lines when possible. Plus their checkers are fast and accurate. They just don't have that many more checkout lanes to open.
Sav-a-Lot has very similar pricing without the long lines. If I was retired and able to shop during weekdays, we'd probably go to Aldi's more.
