There's no legal restriction preventing him from releasing his tax returns, even if he's being audited...

Class envy loser.
What could Trump release that the IRS doesn't already have?
No one else has submitted their Tax returns. In fact, Cruz filed for an extension....which tells me...he screwed up.
Trump shouldn’t give these clowns anything. Maybe a 1 page excerpt when he’s in the White House.
It was clearly a lie, but Trump pretty much lies all the time, and his people don’t care because he’ll build a “wall” — never mind the wall will have exceptions to it like workers Trump wants to hire cheaper than Americans.
Maybe Cruz will go to the Senate floor like Dingy Harry and demand his taxes
“ell, when is Ted and Marco going to release their statements?”
Ted already did, except 2015 and that is not ready given tax day is April 15, 2016.
If anyone’s interested, I ran across this site this morning which provides tax returns of presidents and candidates going back as far as FDR:
http://www.taxhistory.org/www/website.nsf/web/presidentialtaxreturns
Of the 2016 candidates, the only ones who appear to have released returns are Jeb, Carly, Hillary, and Bernie.
I don’t care about tax returns. This is a modern media chump game.
Like the Maple Leaf flag on his college dorm wall?
You must never have owned a business. Companies are frequently audited and you don’t do ANYTHING until the audit is complete.
In addition as Trump said one’s wealth is not revealed on tax records. Retirement investments have never been on our tax filings until my husband reached 70.
And if memory serves you Cruzers were swearing that Christians often don’t put charitable and church contributions on tax records when you defended Cruz for 1% tithes. In all the years we have made charitable contributions we have not listed the bulk because charity is between us and God. So will you afford the same to Trump if you don’t like what he lists as contributions...I doubt it.
According to the article Cruz has released five years worth and will be releasing two more years within a few days.
Give Romney, Cruz, and Rubio 1 page of that IRS pile ...in 2019. LoL.
A presidential candidate that won’t release their tax returns is a red flag. He is hiding something... perhaps many things.
His defense is odd.
1. I am being audited right now (...and always, as usual) and
2. There’s no useful information in a tax return.
It doesn’t matter. The Obama IRS will leak it, if it is embarassing to Trump. Of course, they won’t do so until after it’s too late for the Republicans to do anything about it.
We’ve all seen the picture of Trump with his towering tax return. Imagine a presser and the pointed questions. I doubt the top dogs at IRS could pull it off. There are probably a thousand entries that no two (even informed) people would agree on.
Harry Reid says anonymous source told him Mitt Romney didn’t pay taxes for 10 years
“He can do it tomorrow. He doesn’t want to do it, because presumably there’s something in there”- Ted Cruz
That’s grasping at straws.
He will release them when the IRS is through badgering him.
.... or Bill Clinton’s medical records.
