Is the bashing really necessary?

Posted on 01/13/2016 5:31:27 AM PST by conservativesister

I have always been taught that if you can't say something nice then keep your mouth shut.

After the thread on Sunday from a supporter of one candidate that went way over 200+ posts, I started to feel hatred toward the candidate of the original poster due to how nasty she was toward other candidates.

Yes I want my candidate to win, but I don't want to turn others against my candidate and I know there are posters on this forum that are accomplishing that very feat.

Can we tone it down a bit! After all we are FREEPERS not the hate mongering DNC.

Maybe you need to stop being so easily influenced by other's opinions. Perhaps you might also have considered a vanity a few weeks ago when the shoe was on the other foot. Maybe you only see "vitriol" when it is pointed at your guy?

I respect both Cruz and Trump. My state does not come into play until April. I like reading EVERYTHING, understanding all I can before my day to vote comes up. Not sure why so many feel compelled to force me into a decision now. I'm probably a Trumpbot, but need to see what happens in Iowa and New Hampshire, and then the SEC states before mine even comes up. And the current standings WILL make a difference for me, at that time.

Maybe there are many Freepers who need to grow a little thicker skin. It is the Internet forum not a fireside chat around the campfire with a church group.

We need to call out the DNC/communist infiltraters when we spot them posting. Pretty easy to figure it out.

Come on though this isn’t romper room.

I think watching people show their ass is entertaining, especially when their idea of doing so involves pressing it against Macy’s window at high noon.

If you want to really see some nastiness, visit a religious thread. “: )

Back a few years, the crevo (creation vs evolution) threads were great sport, always nasty.

But nothing beats a public breastfeeding thread.

Psychological manipulation, like the TV commercials that tell you that you have to you "must call NOW!".

Yeah, I saw that.

But I just checked. He’s back now.

You could practically teach a course in PsyOps off of those threads.

My biggest problem with Cruz is he is not going right hard enough. Trump has cleared the field of all the PC bull crap. So now Cruz, or any other candidate, is free to go as far right as they want, but Cruz is still being timid. He is 44 I think. He could be President one day, but not now.

We need a wrecking ball, and that has Trump's name on it.

An Abraham Lincoln breastfeeding thread.

-- Trumpbots should be treated like any other liberals who try to take over FR. --

Now that right there is funny, under the topic of the thread.

That makes me a Trumpbot. So, follow through with your attitude and treat me as you would a liberal invader.

This was predictable we conservatives are surrounded by enemies on every side and have been for a long time now, but to see some of these threads it is becoming clearer that we continue to be are our own worst enemy, it is as if we never learn, time and again it is how we lose the best candidates to the McCains and Romneys, we are adept at snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Civility is long lost and the enmity between supposedly like minded people is incredible and the lies would make the most progressive liberal look tame as we wreak havoc upon one another.

It is indeed sad to see many of these comments of late.

I’ve got an idea...since FR is in the middle of a FREEP-A-THON, let’s have a purge.
We haven’t had a good one since Rudy.

I have been here 10 years longer than you have and it is always like this during presidential election periods. I always consider leaving FR when it gets like this and sometimes I even stop my quarterly donation because FR upsets me so badly.

It is called election, more specifically, presidential election season on FR.

So far, most of the threads have been relatively tame when compared to some in previous years.

Wait until the actual voting starts and the candidate-bots show up and flood every related thread with their pro-candidate-paganda.

There have already been some ‘my guy or the highway’ posters. One in specific has ‘his guy’ down to about 8% now.

It is. No doubt there are those who enjoy full-contact political discourse, but there are those who prefer more civil discussion. It's too bad we haven't been able to find a way to accommodate both.

I ignore it. Cruz remains my #1, Trump remains my #2, there is not, and there won't be, a #3. The rest of my family is on board with that attitude.

Let the internet Courtney Massengales try to gum up the works, they're wasting my time.

If you don't know who Courtney Massengale is, do your own search...I'm raising my children to be Sam Damons.

Amazing, isn't it.

Pre-Trump, Cruz was the unofficial T.E.A. Party standard bearer, with almost unanimous Freeper support.

He and Mike Lee, the only two Senators fighting not only Obama but the RINO GOPe establishment including Mitch McConnell and supporting/leading Conservatives with their battles with John Beohner.

But then... Oh wait, this is a non-bashing thread. hehe
