In December 2015 the American military was ordered to accept women in all jobs, including infantry and special operations. This decision involves about 220,000 jobs and about 20,000 of these are for special operations personnel, commonly known as commandos. While the politicians who pushed for this policy now consider the issue settled and done with, the officers and troops in infantry and special operations units are not pleased and concerned about how to deal with it. Senior officers are bracing for more retirements or troops simply walking away when their current term of service is done. Recruiting for these strenuous and dangerous jobs is seen as even more difficult. In other words opinion surveys indicate that many experienced combat troops are ready to vote with their feet and will be impossible to replace.

"Speaking of physical standards, this has become a problem for European countries now seeking women for the infantry because it is a known and accepted fact that women suffer more injuries in physically stressful activities. Proponents of women in combat (none of them combat veterans) dismiss these issues as minor and easily fixed but offer no tangible or proven solutions. By European law allowing women in jobs that leads to more injuries than men would suffer is illegal. No one has gone to court over this yet but it is only a matter of time. Enough of these baby steps. Let’s open all military position to the old, disabled, blind,deaf, quadriplegic and comatose. The latter-most can be used in command roles.

The government should mandate a certain amount of NFL positions on each team should be fielded with females. It would make more sense than this military mandate.

What will happen to these female “commandoes” when they’re captured by the enemy?

The straight MEN will leave. The queers and the women will stay. The officer ranks will be filled with the new elite pets including some rapidly promoted generals and admirals. The US military will reach a point soon where it has to rely solely on technology, drones and such, to fight a war. It will not be able to hold territory so it will have to sterilize the land. That is if, of course, all that technology is not shrunk to nonexistence.

One of the great things I remember about my active duty time as an officer of Infantry was the impromptu staff meetings. The command group would have the Battalion Commander addressing his staff in the field, maybe close to chow time while the enlisted guys were busy eating we'd be up on a hill nearby (officers always eat last in the field) and talking about what might be upcoming in whatever exercise we were engaging in and suddenly the "Old Man" or the XO would need to take a "whiz" and he'd just spin around, whip it out and "go." then he'd zip up, turn back and we'd continue the discussion. It was nothing. No big deal. But this all changes when the women come in. It HAS to.

I also remember the run up to a deployment overseas where everybody was basically restricted to either the company area or the battalion area depending on rank and there would be "movies" running non-stop in the day rooms or staff areas with popcorn and soda all around, free. XXX of course. Damn that was fun. Girls ruin all the fun GUY stuff just by being present. Yes, I know. I'm a misogynistic pig. ALL GUYS ARE. Especially in the Combat Arms. Otherwise known as the sleepy-eyed professional killers who keep this nation free.

The women wont be rushing to sign up for combat...

When the flight line jobs in the USAF were opened to women they didn’t gleefully sign up..

they were just given the jobs randomly..

those with manicured hands were not happy...

and they couldn’t carry the 100 pound tool boxes so they expected the men to carry those for them...the men refused..

the limit for women was 40 pounds but they weren’t excused from having to carry their own equipment...

the limit for men was 60 and they had to carry the 100 pound boxes so there were no allowances for the women..

plus they got oil all over their pretty hands and they had no interest in how an airplane engine worked...

and those horrible men cursed and told off colored jokes as men do when they are alone in their own exclusive environment..

oh fun fun..

granted most of my info at the time came from the men who had to put up with their moaning ...

The men also expressed concern that the women were not careful and there could be accidents..and the women wanted to do the job their way and not by the book...

do you really think the combat arena is going to be any different ???

I retired in 2007. Just in time to still be part of the finest military in the world and to have all those retirement certificates bearing the signature of a Commander in Chief who had actually served himself. What Obama has done in the past seven years is nothing short of treason. I pity those who have to endure his destruction of our military.

That's incorrect. Commandos are a subset.

That's also true of many people outside of infantry-related specialties in the U.S. I've seen Canadian infantry and light engineer soldiers, by the way--some in person (long ago) and others in videos on the Net. They were high speed and good to go.
