Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the leader of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant, also known as ISIS, announced today that he would be disbanding all forces and returning all land to Syria and Iraq. The move was prompted by the ongoing Climate Conference in Paris.
"This is one thing we could not have anticipated," Mr. al-Baghdadi said in prepared remarks. "When we see the world coming together like this on such a dangerous subject as Global Climate Change, we realize that our Caliphate will never survive. It's only a matter of time before Climate Change is no more and the world's attention turns to us. At that point, we will have no chance. For the sake of the men, women, and children who have supported us, I can not continue a doomed campaign."
An emotional al-Baghdadi did not take any questions.
Sources close to al-Baghdadi who spoke on the condition of anonymity told us that it was becoming more and more difficult to recruit new fighters. "Even our existing people are extremely demoralized," one said. "The words of Donald Trump himself can not overcome our dispair."
According to their press release, surrender is total and immediate. Fighters are being paid and sent home by division. Any remaining money will be put into a fund to resettle Christians and Yazidis who have been displaced by the war.
"We thought the world was fragmented," one strategist was overheard saying to himself. "Who knew it could come together like this? This is a stinging rebuke."
So far there has been no comment from Damascus, Baghdad, Moscow, or Washington. One source inside the Kremlin said, "We are waiting to see if there will be any follow-up action. We want to make sure this is real before we decide on our next steps."

I really hate when I pull a muscle. It isn’t something one can ignore with and success for very long. I hope it heals soon.
I wish I was small enough to be in a Sunbean. The wind is absolutely UGLY, so I’m indoors. I don’t know if I will sit at the ramada today, or not. I know one thing for sure: I will need another breathing treatment before the morning is gone.

We had some trees down, all over town, not to mention a few satellite antennas, patio furniture, garbage cans and trampolines. You’d think, if people paid attention to the high wind warnings, they would take pains to tie things down or put them in a sheltered spot.
I will definitely have to take my car to the car wash on Friday. It is beige, now, instead of white!

LOL! At least the Valley of the Sun is large enough that winds don’t circle for days, like they do here. I’ve learned to hate the wind...

You might want to take a look ahead on the weather-guesser's site. For us the lows from Saturday through about Tuesday are in the 20's, I note that going 60 miles south into Jersey to the flatlands by the occasionallyunBoundBrook doesn't get it up into take-the-comforter-off-the-bed temps yet. Check tonight and Sunday night... ;-)
Probably not a good idea to park this car in the Bronx......just sayin.

Crime is rare in this neighborhood, but collisions are too common, especially with cars parked on the street.
I personally backed into my neighbors’ mailbox a few years ago ...
The drivers in AZ are bad. They have too much room, or so they think.

I saw a 2015 or 16 Jag sedan a few months ago when I was with my mom. It’s so ugly now and it doesn’t even have a jaguar on the hood.

You both are so smart.
I love my winter comforter. It’s very warm and bulky. It’s about 30 years old, one of the first purchases I ever made for my first apartment. Has faded flowers on it, sort of a faux Laura Ashley print.
It also has been vomited on by my late cats, and much loved. I can see little tooth prints on it from where they bit into it while high on catnip.
The whole thing reminds me of Raymond Carver’s poem “The Car”
