Raqqa, Syria
Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the leader of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant, also known as ISIS, announced today that he would be disbanding all forces and returning all land to Syria and Iraq. The move was prompted by the ongoing Climate Conference in Paris.
"This is one thing we could not have anticipated," Mr. al-Baghdadi said in prepared remarks. "When we see the world coming together like this on such a dangerous subject as Global Climate Change, we realize that our Caliphate will never survive. It's only a matter of time before Climate Change is no more and the world's attention turns to us. At that point, we will have no chance. For the sake of the men, women, and children who have supported us, I can not continue a doomed campaign."
An emotional al-Baghdadi did not take any questions.
Sources close to al-Baghdadi who spoke on the condition of anonymity told us that it was becoming more and more difficult to recruit new fighters. "Even our existing people are extremely demoralized," one said. "The words of Donald Trump himself can not overcome our dispair."
According to their press release, surrender is total and immediate. Fighters are being paid and sent home by division. Any remaining money will be put into a fund to resettle Christians and Yazidis who have been displaced by the war.
"We thought the world was fragmented," one strategist was overheard saying to himself. "Who knew it could come together like this? This is a stinging rebuke."
So far there has been no comment from Damascus, Baghdad, Moscow, or Washington. One source inside the Kremlin said, "We are waiting to see if there will be any follow-up action. We want to make sure this is real before we decide on our next steps."
Sleepy cheesedoodle!
When a tiger wants your cheezdoodle, he gets it!
That’s what I wish I were still doing...sleeping...
I’m glad you’re back, but it sounds like no one wanted you to enjoy it. Back in the groove so soon...
I was hoping my money would be in this morning so I could buy ink and get my budget printed out before I actually have to start paying the bills on it, and get the grocery list printed on the other side of it. That makes everything so much easier, and I’ve been doing it for at least four years. With the way my brain works, I need the list.
It also means I couldn’t print the letter for my grandson, so I have no record of what’s in it, once it has been mailed. *sigh*
But, since it’s laundry day, it’s probably just as well...
I watched six episodes (or was it five?) of Season Six of Downton Abbey, but was too tired to stay up another hour and watch the last one. Maybe it will be on PBS.com today.
I paid the house payment.
I paid the rent.
Which is bigger than any house payment I’ve ever had.
Welcome back my friends
To the show that never ends
We’re so glad you could attend
Come inside! Come inside!
If the check is in tomorrow, I will pay my rent then! But only when I get back from the doctor’s. I have to put gas in the truck before I can go more than a few blocks!
And now, I’m out to sit with the peeps and enjoy the almost-80 degree weather! YAY!!! And things are so GREEN now!! <3
:o])
Rents are high here, too, although I’m sure nothing like yours.
Congrats on the weather. It’s 70 here.
The mulberry trees are beating me up. This property is covered with them, and when I went out to start the BB SUV this morning, the windshield was covered with chartreuse pollen. GAH!
The 45 minutes I spent at the ramada with Charlie was a mistake. My eyes are all red and swollen, my nose is stuffed up and it’s hard to breathe. Another two weeks and the worst will be over with. The older I get, the worse this particular pollen is for me.
I took a Benedryl, but had no allergy drops for my eyes, so they are making me hate them. In a while, I will go have a breathing treatment — probably steroid, with all the irritants.
Tomorrow, when I go back to the pain clinic, I will ask them to change the time and date for the lower back procedure, as I can’t find a ride that late in the day and wouldn’t have the stamina to endure it, anyway.
I hate thinking about their move in March to the new facility farther north and west. That means I’ll have to leave at least 20 minutes earlier to get there on time. *sheesh*
“...Yes Officer , there is a Tigger coming through my window.”
“There is a lot of it about at the moment, you say?”
“Take two aspirin an see how I feel in the morning....Thankyou Officer!”
Sorry, Mr. Moose, Sir. We’re a bit busy at the moment dealing with refugees from Syria. We’ll get to your refugee from Viet Nam as soon as we have things under control.
Say, about 2025.
Good day, Mr. Moose, Sir.
Are we supposed to be leaping today or something?
As far as special days go, I did something today that I don’t think I’ve ever done before in my entire life.
I ran a pen out of ink which I had bought for myself.
Will wonders never cease.
That has an Accuracy to it...
Afternoon Mr ArGee. :)
I have not leapt today. I will consider it before bedtime, though.
I’m going to have some tea and work on some lists for Cub Scouts.
Tea. Is that the stuff that American’s who can’t handle coffee drink?
English persons drink it. Also me, when we’ve used up the coffee from the morning and I’m too cheap to make another pot.
