Raqqa, Syria
Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the leader of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant, also known as ISIS, announced today that he would be disbanding all forces and returning all land to Syria and Iraq. The move was prompted by the ongoing Climate Conference in Paris.
"This is one thing we could not have anticipated," Mr. al-Baghdadi said in prepared remarks. "When we see the world coming together like this on such a dangerous subject as Global Climate Change, we realize that our Caliphate will never survive. It's only a matter of time before Climate Change is no more and the world's attention turns to us. At that point, we will have no chance. For the sake of the men, women, and children who have supported us, I can not continue a doomed campaign."
An emotional al-Baghdadi did not take any questions.
Sources close to al-Baghdadi who spoke on the condition of anonymity told us that it was becoming more and more difficult to recruit new fighters. "Even our existing people are extremely demoralized," one said. "The words of Donald Trump himself can not overcome our dispair."
According to their press release, surrender is total and immediate. Fighters are being paid and sent home by division. Any remaining money will be put into a fund to resettle Christians and Yazidis who have been displaced by the war.
"We thought the world was fragmented," one strategist was overheard saying to himself. "Who knew it could come together like this? This is a stinging rebuke."
So far there has been no comment from Damascus, Baghdad, Moscow, or Washington. One source inside the Kremlin said, "We are waiting to see if there will be any follow-up action. We want to make sure this is real before we decide on our next steps."

Thank you. 42 inches. A bit ahead of schedule. We will only be 8 below tonight. Last ten years I have been here it has been 20 below. That global warming..LOL!

My friend, Charlie, just left, very full and very happy, and is headed out to watch football, but I can afford only channels that don’t have it, except on a few occasions.
The rib meat fell off the bone, as I wanted it to! And the carrots were yummy! I settled on tater tots, realizing that a small baked potato was not going to fill that huge man. And neither would the small can of sweet potatoes...
At any rate, there was enough of everything left for him to take a plate with him as he went out the door. ;o]
Now, I have to wait for my stomach to settle down before I head for bed, so y’all are stuck with me for a while longer today. :o])
There is a strange satisfaction to producing a good meal. :)

:o] I was going to make the T-bone steak a friend gave to me but decided on a Rice a Roni dish that I add chicken breast to.
My usual quite town is full off snowmobiles. They didn’t have fireworks the 4th this year because of fires, so it will be tonight. I have Fredds meds ready to give him a hour before they go off.
I think they are going to do them in our new town park. That will be better, they used to set them off on the airstrip in front of my place.
The fireworks are supposed to start at 8pm, which will be close to my bedtime.
41 degrees....isn’t that colder than normal for you?
Before the spinal arthritis got too intense, I was a very good cook. Now, I can only cook full meals when I have had morphine to dull the pain.
Two things I was good at but could never make a career of doing was hairdressing and cooking.
*sigh*
Now it’s fast food and short hair.
