The Army football team on Saturday made a winning play for solidarity with France following the attacks in Paris the night before. One player carried the French flag onto the field before the team's game against Tulane, according to USA Today's For The Win blog.

Defensive back Caleb McNeill did the honors at West Point's Michie Stadium.

The United States Military Academy tweeted that it "stands with the French people following the #ParisAttacks - liberté, égalité, fraternity. #DutyHonorCountry."

I am reminded of Charles Stanton saying, “Lafayette, we are here!”

I’d rather see them lighting an ISIS flag on fire.

'I’d rather see them lighting an ISIS flag on fire.'

Not enough notice to get the environmental impact study approved.

I’m sure a few Frenchmen will draw a measure of comfort from the USMA flag gesture. It was a nice thing to do.

The problem comes when this stuff takes the place of real action. We in the USA, of course, won’t get any real action under the current U.S. president. We’ll see soon whether or not the French have anything better leadership-wise.

Obama’d rather see them carrying an ISIS flag onto the field.

Thank You ARMY for being adults, which our wimp in the rainbow hut isn’t, and showing France and Paris we care...

It appears as though the American flag preceded it. It’s all good.

It confused the opposing team. They weren’t sure if they were going to pass or run.

AND then proceeded to whoop up on SMU. Go Navy! Beat Army!

But I’d prefer both of em beating some ISIS ass in the near future.

All Navy has to do now is beat Houston and they win the West Division of the AAC, and should be favored to win the AAC Championship Game....What a story that would be. And their only loss is to the potential playoff team, Notre Dame.

All Navy has to do now is beat Houston and they win the West Division of the AAC,

Navy should give the Cougar defense fits...and keep their offense off the field for long periods of time...

I think they can pick their score against Army, but the Black Knights will come out breathing fire...
