I couldn’t believe that Bambi was holding up Yemen and Somalia as “successes.” Success at what? I guess it depends on what his overall objective is, and he’s sure not going to be dumb enough to reveal that in a speech!
Newt supported the speech on Thursday night:
"CNN contributor Newt Gingrich said Wednesday night that President Barack Obama’s White House address outlining a four-point strategy to confront ISIS was strong, and above all pro-American, speech. Perhaps the former House Speaker felt Obama took notes from his imagined pseudo-Reagan draft from last week.
“I thought it was a very strong speech overall,” Gingrich said, noting a couple of exceptions. “Probably the most explicitly pro-American speech he’s ever made. He kept coming back again and again toward the end in a way that most Americans will resonate with. And I think he achieved a fair amount of what he needs to get started on this.”

Islam can be defeated in 2 years. Cut off their food. Islam produces nothing but oil. Drill, drill, drill in every known pocket of oil in the Gulf, ANWAR, etc... Cut off the food sales to every single Islamic country. Within 2 years...victory. Zimbabwe is a perfect example. Without Western food the entire country would be a ghost town.

The harsh reality of the Global War on Terrorism is there is no safe rear areas.
There were two harsh unspoken truths about September 11, 2002:
First, everything used to hijack the airliners were permitted by the existing security criteria. That’s right, it was totally LEGAL to board an airliner with them.
Second, the attacks were launched within the United States.
If those two facts, alone, don’t give you a hint as to how badly the last three Presidential Administrations (1993 - 2015) have screwed things up nothing will.
IMHO, the first step is to declare war on ISIS and all the other “previously unknown” terrorist groups we are going to encounter.
A declared state of war gives any government a vastly enlarged tool box to work with when it comes to dealing with the terrorists, uncooperative and hostile nation states, and individual citizens including our own and our politicians. Harsh facts, but true.
The only other option is having our grandchildren become slaves to radical Islamists. Read Robert A. Heinlein’s 1964 novel Farnham’s Freehold to get a feeling for what that future might look like.
Newt is a jerk. I heard him on CNN after the speech praising Obama to the heavens.
The defeat of Muslim invaders at the Gates of Vienna was at the end of the 1600s.
That was over three-hundred years ago. I suspect the conservative time required to eliminate Islam will be 700 years from now - in 2700/2800AD. A shorter length of time, a wildly improbable will be around 200 more years or 2200 AD.
They, the Islamists, value death. Let’s give it to them in spades. Those who witness the devastation will value their lives and hopefully convert to Christianity. At that point the carnage will end.
The West’s need for oil let them climb out from under their rock.
Newt's a big man. Big enough to take both sides of many issues.
