Sounds like a good place for a lobbyist meeting, or a dinner for Mafia chieftains.

I thought most upscale restaurants employ deaf waiters ?
To: EveningStar
Well I guess I'd rather a deaf waiter than a dumb waiter.
Saw the video, seems like a decent enough place to go eat. But I know I'd screw up the sign language and order something I didn't want. Then I'd have to figure out how to tell them in sign language that what I thought I ordered wasn't what I got.

I’ve been to restaurants with only dumb waiters.

Sure sounds like a great money maker, how about a blind cook to really draw in the crowds.

I suppose telling them not to take wooden nickels is not an appropriate tip?

I don’t like restaurants that change the name of things for their gimmick. If I want a hamburger I want to be able to say “give me a hamburger” not something goofy like “pacos billy burger”. I think making me use sign language counts. Nothing wrong with giving deaf people jobs, but I still want to say “give me a hamburger”.

Awesome! There’s a cool restaurant in Tel Aviv / Yafo staffed with blind waiters, and, I think, blind chefs. The food is actually fantastic.

The menu does look interesting. It’s within walking distance so I might check it out.

I guess I’d just point to the menu, but I’d be careful to watch what finger I use. Don’t want misunderstandings.
To: EveningStar
Good for them. Hope the restaurant is a hit.

I thought the headline read "dead waiters", which I imagined could mean several things:
- Service is as slow as normal.
- Zombie waiters.
- Some kind of mechanical device similar to a dumb waiter.
