I don’t understand either trend. Give me good, old fashioned brewed coffee anyday.
If it’s not fresh brewed coffee grounds, forget it.
And tell that euro-weenie that my coffee will never be called “Johan”
I don’t use sugar and I find instant coffee very sweet , do they add sugar
These pod things are an incredibly expensive and wasteful way to make a friggin’ cup of coffee. Even my favorite coffee, Chock full o’Nuts, has succumbed to this ridiculous craze.
Alas, P. T. Barnum was right.
So what? Who cares what the rest of the world thinks, does, etc.? They'd probably like to emulate us, but instant coffee is much cheaper than k-cups.
Now that this is settled, the press should concentrate on Benghazi, Fast and Furious, our Marine rotting in a mexican hellhole, etc.
What does instant coffee have to do with anything???
Nestle is taking on Keurig with their “Nespresso” machines.
Similar concept, although the cartridges are a different size and only fit Nespresso machines.
Not cheap - but its really high quality and they will give Keurig a run for their money.
Never heard of ‘Keurig’ and I live in a coffee city.
>> Nestles Nescafé instant coffee leads the marke
That’s served on the Disney properties in Orlando. A tough swill if normally spoiled with regular brew.
I make a 14 cup glass carafe(currently a kitchen aid maker) of my own bean blend each morning.
I am not too hot on K cups. I miss my old perculator....but the drip maker is ok.
As the only coffee drinker in the house (single mom) my daughter bought me vanilla Nescafe and it wasn’t the crap coffee from the 80’s I remember. I liked it a lot!
I like fresh brewed coffee.. the stronger the better. K cups are OK, but they cost more than a can of Maxwell House.
D cups are more than adequate
Keurig makes decent coffee, but the major advantage is, it takes about 1 minute to brew and deposit in your cup.
I wonder how that is wasteful if you only drink one cup of coffee a day. Most regular coffee makers will only do a minimum of 4 cups, but then I don't drink a "cup" of coffee, I drink from a mug, which is two and a half times a "regular" coffee cup.
If it came down to drinking instant coffee or no coffee at all; I’d go with no coffee at all.
You can always get your caffeine from iced tea or a soda.
You can buy Keurig style cups that are refillable.
Best of both worlds, much reduced cost, and the simplicity of the system.
Downside—needing to periodically make up a batch of cups.
Upside—ability to sample many types of ground beans, etc.
Since there is a Keurig machine at my work, I have decided to buy a small quantity of refillable cups, make my own supply at home, and try them at work.
If that works out, come home and impose that upon my sweet bride of 46 years.
