The victims all appeared to be women, mostly in their late teens or early 20s. Evidence suggested they were strangled, or perhaps cut at the throat, at the edge of their shared mass grave, and then interred, meters away from an ornate burial of two men thought to be clan elders, political leaders, spiritual guides, or all three.

Can’t even keep trannies away from mass sacrifices. Dang things are everywhere.

One can understand the appeal of the story about a mass sacrifice of young women ... especially nekkid young women, gigetty!

This story is a useful reminder that a lot of “science” has a good admixture of “fiction.”

Liberals cream their jeans when they wax poetic about all of those utopian egalitarian “sustainable” cultures that preceded this horrific materialistic sexist Christian culture.

When I see dates listed as CE, I stop right there.

No need reading any more of this godless drivel.

When such mass burials are found elsewhere -- i.e., Ur, Sumeria 2500 BC, or Shimao in Shaanxi China 2000 BC, -- they are often interpreted as being the king's wives, consorts & retainers:

Just tell yourself that "CE" means "Christian era" and "BCE" means "Before Christian era." Regardless of the rationale for changing the letters, they still refer to a specific event.

Truly, some civilizations are better than others. Massive killing of young people for ritualistic reasons... a culture that can do that...

Forget it. Committing abortion is a paganistic rite of passage for many in our society. We are no better.

Spot on - and we have killed/are killing many millions of tiny little lives - slaughtering in horrific ways, every day in ‘the mills’

We have NO QUARTER in condemnation of others

Wonder if those human sacrifices to the gods were to prevent global warming?

So this is what happens when they don't have enough food or resources. Men are not
killed off because they fight the wars and work the fields.

We have seen this in recent history. Soviet union and others.

Men are not killed off because they fight the wars ...

Where they are killed off.

... and work the fields.

Not usually.

What we are discussing is actually a proto-Muslim society in America.

The question should be were the proto-Muslims killing their women or the women from other tribes?

Killing large numbers of young females on a rival tribe would be an effective means of removing future competitors.

In any case, those grave contents support the English having dubbed the Native Americans “savages”.

Violent ones, too.

No CE means “Common Era”,

This is just another way to deny God.

Perhaps, but I have seen it referred to as "Current Era". When I see "CE" or "BCE", I figure the tone is Politically Correct and set my filters accordingly, though I suspect that many who use this "updated" method do so because of peer pressure from within the community.

I know what the abbreviations are supposed to mean, which is why I suggest fighting back. Referring to them as "Christian Era" and "Before Christian Era" negates the whole purpose of changing the abbreviations in the first place.

Liberals change the meanings of words all the time (look at how the word "marriage" is being corrupted). Fight back, on their terms.

I totally agree eDM. Even more ridiculous is the reference to Before Present as BP. That might work for very, very old dates, but anything that covers human history loses its reference point.
