Amanda Knox was found guilty of murder today by an Italian court, the latest twist in a murder case that goes back to 2007.

The verdict reached by the two judges and six jurors came after several hours of deliberations at the Florence courthouse.

The judge sentenced Knox to 28 years in prison. Her former Italian boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito and co-defendant was sentenced to 25 years.

Two Italian judges and six jurors began deliberations earlier today. If Knox and her former Italian boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito are found guilty, the court is also expected to pronounce a prison sentence.

The prosecutor has asked for a 26 prison term for the murder for Knox and Sollecito, plus another four years for Knox on a related libel conviction.

This is the fourth time Knox faced a verdict on the 2007 murder of her roommate Meredith Kercher while they were roommates in Perugia, Italy. Knox, now 26, and Sollecito, 29, were convicted in 2009.

After serving four years in prison they were freed in 2011 when an appeals court threw out the murder conviction. But Italy's supreme court ordered another appeals court to rehear the case. Kercher's sister Stephanie and brother Lyle were in the courtroom for the verdict.

Knox, who is sporting a new, short haircut, remained in her hometown of Seattle for the latest trial. Sollecito was in court today earlier today, but was not present for the verdict....

From the Daily Mail: Speaking to a group of New York reporters, Knox's ex-lover, Rafaelle Sollecito, stated: "When I met her it was like I was hit by a thunderbolt. Our relationship got very intense very quickly.

"I didn't have much sexual experience. She HAD A BIT MORE than I. We were sleeping together and our sex life wasn't boring."

He acknowledged that the night of the murder he and the other male convicted murderer were smoking marijuana.

There's more on this very "progressive" woman's cohourts and her conduct in the field of foreign affairs, but this will have to suffice for the moment. I have to clean the silverware drawer.

Both Guede and Knox have changed their stories.

Guede is obviously involved and I believe the evidence indicates that he didn't act alone.

That being said, I don't know whether Knox was involved.

I do know that the strongest Knox advocates ignore the fact that there was some forensic and circumstantial evidence against her. It was fair to find her not guilty in the face of the evidence. It's not fair to blindly suggest it didn't exist.

Technically the Vatican and the Pope do not reside in Italy, but rather the country of Vaticania (just joking) or whatever they call the actual Vatican.

“In order to get a first hand look at justice in Perugia, be sure to read “The Monster of Florence” by Doug Preston and Mario Spezi.”

I heartily agree! That Guiliano Mignini is one sick puppy! Yeah, they could not find Knox’s DNA in the murder room, but she’s guilty. Meanwhile, Rudy Guede’s DNA is all over the place. Mignini’s answer: These naive college kids, Amanda and her boyfriend Sollecito, cleaned their DNA up but left Guede’s DNA behind! Yeah, Mignini it was magic DNA they cleaned up! What a corrupt, disgusting idiot that guy is!

Nor to any European Union nation where she will be turned over to Italian authorities.

Five drops with mixed DNA in a shared bathroom? Shocking. Or do you mean the footprints that were revealed by luminol but tested negative for blood? Or the knife which did not actually have Kerchner's DNA on it?

I did not intimate in my post that she was guilty or innocent any more than I know how she votes. You assumed too much in your comment to me.

I merely addressed the fact that I'd make any bet that she's a liberal due to her hedonistic and unwise life-style among the eurotrash set in Italy.

I believe the Kercher family is suing them for 12 million dollars, while the Italian police still have an active lawsuit against her parents for slander.

I guess you missed the thread were I actually gave some of it.

There is more evidence against Knox than 90% of people in jail for murder in the U.S. So you all should be trying to get them out to.

Some of the evidence:

-Amanda Knox knew that Meredith had been sexually assaulted, before the police revealed that to anyone. How can anyone explain that?

-Amanda and Rafael lied and said they were at his house. Then when that was proved a lie, they said they were at her place, where the murdered occurred. I think that at a later point, they again claimed they were at his house.

-Everything Knox said to the police was a lie, and she changed her story multiple times.

-She lied about texts from Patrick Lumumba. When confronted of evidence of that lie, she claimed she witnessed Lumumba rape and kill Meredith? Why in the world would she do that? The police still hadn't released the info that Meredith was sexually assaulted, but Knox knew it.

-When it was proven that Lumumba was not involved she changed her story again.

-The murder weapon had her DNA on it. Meredith's bra had Rafael's DNA on it.

The crime had been staged to look like a robbery. Rafael and Amanda knew that nothing had been stolen from the third roommate, before she came home and checked.

-She lied to police that Meredith always kept her room locked, and tried to steer the police away from Meredith's room until the third roommate came home and said Meredith's door was always unlocked. Amanda and Rafael left the area when they broke Meredith's door down.

-Amanda and Rafael were at the scene, had guilty knowledge, and lied about everything involving what happened? It was staged to look like a robbery, and Rafael and Amanda channeled the police into thinking it was just a robbery for as long as possible.

You do realize that Italy already has tried and convicted and sentenced a man for this crime — and he is in a Roman jail right now.

Forensics showed more than one person killed her.

Amanda Knox knew that Meredith had been sexually assaulted, before the police revealed that to anyone. How can anyone explain that?

Simple --

She saw the body without clothes on and assumed that she had been sexually assaulted.

But her assumption was premature as forensics subsequently proved that she had NOT been sexually assaulted.

All of which means that she wasn't there to know that she had NOT been sexually assaulted.

You really need a new gig --

She created multiple lies about what happened that night. One of those lies was that she was there when the murder and sexual assault happened when another man did it, who we now know was completely involved.
