I know he reads greek and Spanish.
No johnny, I ended my 4 years as a SSgt. eons ago.
I wasn't expecting ice to be on those covers. All the plants are still green and none shriveled up.
The five types of tomatoes under the grow lamp have sturdy stalks, each kind is about five inches tall with healthy looking stems/leaves branched out and none look spindly like I caused to happen last year. Once I selected two or three of each kind and put them in 5 inch across, 4 inches deep pots they took off. I didn't do that last year, thought I could go from small cups to large container homes for them and that was wrong.
The four larger pots of Homemade Pickle cucumbers (one in each pot) look great and I have more strains to plant in February/March. Some of you have warned me about those insects that can eat them and that possibility is less due to their final home being in larger pots and on the deck.
Question:
I have Neem oil in sprayer bottles. Once I sit the cucumbers in their final pots and put them on the deck, will a spraying of Neem oil at that time, keep those insects away?
We are taking a lunch break at my daughter's now. It is too cold outside to work in the garden, so I'm just hanging out.

My wife is pretty excited about the noodler/slicer. This thing looks to be much safer than her mandoline.
In other news, today my wife advised me that her co-worker cut the end of her thumb off with her mandoline the other day. This news just as my wife’s hand is starting to heal somewhat from her accident with the one I gave her at Christmas. I looked at them online and knew that they were dangerous and an accident waiting to happen the moment that you get forgetful of the danger. It took my wife three uses of the mandoline to get hurt. She was not using the handheld push tool. She has promised to always use the push thing from now on, but I notice that she is not using the mandoline anymore. I feel bad about giving here something that caused her pain, but when her Christmas want list has it at the top, what am I to do?
You are correct about the cultural garbage on TV if it's used as background noise.
I prefer silence, being a hermit type, but I have music I can put on if I want noise.
I was in a cube on 9/11 and found out about the events right here on FR. I was married back then, and she had a TV, so when we got home, we did watch events on the TV. That's one of the last things I remember watching on TV.

It’s 56.8 degrees outside and this electronic weather thingy has started arrows blinking toward a cloud with something coming out of cloud which would be rain. My TV latest weather report does not mention rain today or tonight. I will know which one is right.
Glad you got leftovers from family. I know you can put those together to make a good meal no matter what they are.
I’m with you, want my TV to find out what is happening in the world, watch documentaries, and watch good movies. Sure there are things I don’t want to watch, so I don’t. I won’t throw the baby out with the dishwater.

This picture on Amazon is what got me excited.. BTW, after I used mine, the clean up was pretty easy. And I was careful cleaning the giant honker blade part. I am always very careful when I clean my mandoline, too.
I do use my mandoline to juleienne stuff, especially sweet potatoes for stir fry. I always look for “car” shaped sweet potatoes, so that I have a big hump, I can rest my palm on when I push it against the blade.
Daughter left my house with my big oregano plant that I keep kept in the window. She needs to work on her sneak technique. ;)

I use the palm method, but I do have those welding gloves which I guess would work. my gunsmith bought them for me because I tend to use my fingernails like tongs when removing hot stuff from the oven, or flipping stuff I'm pan frying. I've not tried the welding gloves for hand protection in the kitchen.

Thanks for that tip. My wife should not be allowed to play with sharp objects, or mandolines.
Maybe one for me too. I have a saw that will cut off digits. I never use it when I’m alone, just in case.
I've spent so many thousands of hours with a razor sharp knife in my hand that if I ever do have an accident, it will be ER or morgue time.
