A few months ago, physicist Harold White stunned the aeronautics world when he announced that he and his team at NASA had begun work on the development of a faster-than-light warp drive. His proposed design, an ingenious re-imagining of an Alcubierre Drive, may eventually result in an engine that can transport a spacecraft to the nearest star in a matter of weeks and all without violating Einstein's law of relativity. We contacted White at NASA and asked him to explain how this real life warp drive could actually work.

ITha would be VERY cool.
I’ve always said that fast and efficient propulsion is the key to space travel.
I have my doubts about warp drive within the next century but I wish them well. Leaps do happen.
If we can figure it out at our relatively primitive level of civilization, what makes anyone think that intelligent beings on other worlds haven’t already done so? Which leads to....
Where do the dylithium crystals go?
This reads like a hoax-article. I’ll wait for the story to reach some paper like the Washington Times or the New York Times or some other general newspaper like the Tulsa World.
Even the title-line reads like a hoax.
This is just a distraction from NASA’s primary mission of muslim outreach.
The period that elapsed between no aircraft and jet aircraft was about three decades.
SO when all that space time gets displaced...does it start rippling out like a wake?
And if this creates ripples it space time...what happens when those ripples reach Earth?
There’s just one tiny little problem about space travel...fuel. Minor, detail, I guess.
Unless this somehow benefits Muslims or “underrepresented minorities with a history of repression,” don’t expect any funding in the next three years or so.
The story mentions the Chicago pile. In a year they went from a nuclear reaction that produced half a watt to a 4 megawatt reactor.
Technological leaps happen.
...Nancy Pelosi is actually an evil alien from outer space.
From Kitty Hawk to Alpha Centauri in a century? Even I know that’s too good to be true!
She’s from Uranus.
Interesting but I’m still waiting for that carburetor that will move a 4,500 lb sedan 100mpg.
