Yesterday, the House Homeland Security Committee published a video on their Youtube page highlighting a portion of the committee questioning Roberta Stempfley, acting assistant secretary of the Department of Homeland Securitys Office of Cyber-security and Communications, who confirmed at least 16 attacks on the Affordable Care Acts portal Healthcare.gov website in 2013.
Roberta Stempfley highlighted one successful attack that is designed to deny access to the website called a Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack. A DDoS attack is designed to make a network unavailable to intended users, generally through a concerted effort to disrupt service such as repeatedly accessing the servers, saturating them with more traffic than the website is designed to handle.
Right wingers have been distributing the link to the necessary tools to perform the attacks on the Healthcare.gov website through social networking, as pointed out by Information Week, and other websites .
The name of the attack tool is called, "Destroy Obama Care!"

I ask you, is that such a bad thing?

Canadian conservatives wrought havoc on the gun registry in Canada until it was finally taken down. We can do the same here.

I guess they should have tested their site before going live.

I am someone very well skilled to do something like this. No way would I do it. It's broken all by itself, and frankly, I WANT it to work -- so Americans can be horrified at what they are facing.

Of course, no proof of “right wing” organizations being involved. With this regime, it could even be a “false flag” operation to discredit their enemies.

B) Possible felony.
C) Very bad idea.
D) We want it to work, and WELL, so Americans can gaze in horror at the rates and lack of service they will get.
E) Very bad idea.
F) Allows the left to demonize us.
F) Very bad idea.
Oh, did I mention? It's a very bad idea.

I have actually entered Examiner into my HOSTS file as an internet site that is blocked outright.
I am much happier. :)

Obamacare is a false flag. It is designed and implemented at obscene cost to fail and its failure is laid at the feet of those who oppose it.

Left-wingers, liberals, progressives and plain old Democrats continue to make these baseless allegations. They have lost their collective mind. The public recognizes the illness behind the allegations and name-calling and you can bet the voters will listen to these sickos less and less.
We know there is an element in the Homeland Security Department with an ominous bent toward the very same methods and tactics the Nazis used to take over and subdue their own people in Germany.
Homeland Security was a good idea but has led us into the current police state.

DDoS attacks are hacker child's play these days. Download the basic file, insert the intended target and launch. Wouldn't surprise me if many of the infected machines are actually government units infected from porn sites.
Ukrainian kids are probably doing it just cause they are bored and it is in the news.
Sorry for your loss.

I am someone very well skilled to do something like this. No way would I do it. It's broken all by itself, and frankly, I WANT it to work -- so Americans can be horrified at what they are facing. Ditto. The claim that it's right wing groups is designed purely as a political ploy to deflect blame and I'd add is a piss-poor attempt at Democrats trying to energize a base that frankly doesn't exist on this issue.
Democrats, Republican's alike BOTH hate Obamacare at this point. Let it crumble under it's own insidious weight.

Your statement is a bit misleading, because there was no hacking or cyber-shenanigans involved.
We simply engaged in a long, non-stop anti-gun-registry campaign of political criticism. And it helped, but the real killer was a combination of price and time - initially promised by the Liberals in 1993 to cost "only" $285 million, after 10 years it still wasn't working and the cost had ballooned to over $2 billion (that's $2000 million).
At that point, the public had had enough and threw the Liberals out. The new Parliament, responding to public sentiment, ended the registry permanently.
