My thought is certain recreational drugs, such as marijuana, should remain off legal limits for the under 18 year olds, but become legally available when used in the proper environment. In many ways, pot is quite similar to alcohol, in that they should be used responsibly. My thought is to make the sale of marijuana less profitable by making it legal for home use. Personally, I don't smoke anything now, and do not want the smell of tobacco or pot on my clothes should I visit a public place, such as a shopping mall or bus stop. I know this idea has been kicked around for years, and hasn't really gained traction. My concern is, even if pot was declared legal and open for adult use, how would those newly arrived Mexcian gangs deal with this market loss? Would they end up trying to raid, ruin and close down any public seller of these formerly illegal substances? I think for the first few years, there may be such push back and attempts at intimidation by those losing business to the open market. Its' not really my fight anymore, but, so many cities say they are inching toward bankruptcy, this new open market may help to boost city funds. Yes, it would be a bold step in the cold, deep waters of chance. But it may work. We go rid of prohibition of alcohol, and the country survived the gang's angry wrath back then too.
Ok, leave your kid with the pot smoker rather than the wine with dinner lady.
Please note in my post I specifically spoke AGAINST drunkenness, which would include DUIs
Ok, leave your kid with the pot smoker, since the lady having wine with dinner may be an alkie.
Medical pot isn’t particularly helpful for most kinds of pain. It is primarily used to control the nausea that may be a side effect of the pain meds or chemotherapy that you are taking. That and making you stoned enough to simply not care about the fact that you are most likely slowly dying from some disease.
Before the steam engine, if you suggested criminalizing cannabis they would lock you in a rubber room!
It is the single most useful plant in all of history.
marinol has proven to be a more effective pain reliever than smoking pot....and that is available by rx
Pot of course needs to be legalized. JMHO
Here. I have a good job and don’t sit on my toosh. I eat medicinal chocolate at night for chronic pain. Better the Pot chocolate then Norcos-Vicodin-Oxy! What do people suggest for sufferers of chronic pain?
For mental illnesses triggered by marijuana, the picture is murky because there are unresolved issues as to how many of them would have developed mental illness anyway, if perhaps later in life or in a less severe form. In any event, as a matter of public policy, the proven harms of marijuana provide a credible basis for prohibition.
There is still a case for marijuana legalization based on other considerations, but intellectually honest advocates ought not to ignore the harms that legalization would advance.
I know what you mean. I broke my neck, fusion with permanent nerve damage and scare tissue that gets worse all the time. But I think recreational and medicinal are two different issues. I support both. I grew up in a poor neighborhood and saw many rich kids get hooked on hard stuff just because the pot guy sold it too. Poor kids too. Take pot sales away from the guy with heroin and meth you would save many kids. Btw I do not smoke it.
Why does this come down to leaving my kids with anyone. I enjoy the sense to not leave my kids with either and think it ridiculous to make pot illegal because you lack it. And before you break out the soap box remember you took the conversation here.
Because with welfare and Obamacare, Ive got to pay for your idiocy.
So if you want to flush yourself down the toilet, it shouldnt be on my dime.
" Yes! Good enough to repeat a few times. FOOD STAMP and WELFARE recipients should be required to take a DRUG TEST.
Pot removes ambition. It should remain illegal. Smoking pot is part of the COUNTER culture. That means you must make a conscious decision to break the law if you want to smoke pot. But getting caught with personal possession of pot should get you stiff fines and never jail time. Just like truck drivers must have clean driving records, some jobs and all welfare should require clean drug records.
>> should be decriminalized
To be interpreted by the statists as sanctioned.
Drugs are bad, militarized drug suppressors are worse.
WOD is an industry
Permit vigilante justice against dealers, and I’ll support decriminalization.
So, the original poster got zotted.
The conclusion is that not much tolerance exists for the 1st Amendment among the self-proclaimed Constitutionalists.
Fascism is not exclusive to the Left.
well since you gave an honest answer I’ll just say this: I don’t think anybody under the age of 21 should use Marijuana.
I think it’s damaging the most to those under 21 as it interferes with the ability to learn — and I’m not particularly talking the 3 R’s. I think it interferes with social skills we pick up during those years.
Perhaps there are those who want children that age to use marijuana so they’re impressionable to socialists indoctrinations by pie in the sky social theories from poorly educated teachers. Maybe it’s getting them stoned and telling them “gay is okay, natural, normal”, or “Global Warming”, or “Global Market”, or “1000 points of light”, “New World order” — everything but educational fundamentals like reading, writing and math and the intellectual competition that occurs during those years.
He got the zot because he was a liberal pro-dope newbie. But why liberal pro-dope oldsters are permitted to remain is beyond me.
If you don’t want to smoke it don’t! what gives you; or anyone else the right; to tell someone else what they can do?
I don’t smoke it because I choose not to.
Just when we think we have found a leader...... they sell out.
