And when the liberals and Democrats know you have a stash they’ll accuse you of being a hoarder, confiscate your supply “for the good of the community” where they can come to take what they need.

A year?

Add lots of tin foil to foil the walls and ceilings to prevent the drones from honing in.

On the 8th day they tried to pry that extra can of Vienna sausage from my cold dead hand.

I have a lot of hard corn and enough pickling lime to process it in addition to the other grains mentioned. Is there a problem with this as it was not mentioned?

Actually rather than a pantry I’ve thought it might be a good idea to examine where you live. If it all falls apart I’d not want to be within 500 miles of a major metropolitan area. Your 1 year pantry does no good if the place you live is beset by looters. Do not fool yourself into thinking you can buy enough ammunition to keep them out either.

If I thought a huge economic upheaval was going to occur I’d buy some property in a fairly remote medium sized town, think Lubbock Texas or similar. You want to be far enough out that the inner-city looters can’t make the round trip in large numbers but where there is a fairly homogenous population that will help each other and where there is enough infrastructure to possibly carry on civilized life.

Just my thoughts. I’d not do the 1 year pantry and invest in a small house in a large town a long way from a major city then spend some time there so the people know you.

Proteins: legumes, eggs, nuts, peanut butter, canned meats and fish, oatmeal, grains, wheat, quinoa, seeds, MREs, popcorn Fats: whole milk, ensure, peanut butter, oil ...

Glad to see peanut butter listed twice, since I love the stuff! (Yes, I noticed it's both a protein and a fat.) I have many jars of it - bought before the price got exorbitant. And some powdered cases. I'll figure out how to make peanut butter cookies when TSHTF, if I have to bake them in my dutch over over a campfire!

Greeneyes, meant to ping you to my post 47.

Well, that article is how I did it. I started with long term food hermetically sealed by Walton Food to last 20-25 years. I did that in numerous shipments so a bunch of boxes wouldn’t be delivered at once and neighbors wondering why zillions of boxes were being unloaded by UPS at my house.

I have long term sprouts stored so I can have fresh veggies after grocery store food is out and I go to the 20-25 year food.

Last was to make a list of canned meats to buy at grocery, plus get veggies and canned fruit, etc.

These various lists were made and followed from the beginning.

Along with all that are the stored items that aren’t food. Had lists of that to follow.

Then came the barter goods which could be used by me if barter goods were not needed.

Plus, I added fast food and anything else I get at the grocery for storage and I don’t stop doing that. This past week I added 20 meals at a cost of $5.60 - just add hot water to the included styrofoam cup with the food already in it. Yes, it’s Maruchan Instant Lunch in a cup, 10 roast chicken and 10 beef. There is a shrimp one but I am very allergic to shrimp, clam, and crab - that iodine is poison to me.

I just lock my front door and not come out front for a year.

I have an estimated one year supply of almost everything I need, spent all summer getting weird looks from store clerks and such when I was buying cans after cans of the Augason Farms dehydrated foods,

And coupled with the estimated 5,000 plus rounds of just the .22lr and not mentioning anything else all I get are nasty comments from the “too laters”.

I’m not feeling sympathetic for them, they remind me of the latest Zombieland where a hitch hiker is screaming over and over, “save me!”
yet in the end he becomes roadkill and the survivors who fight just take his backpack.

I’m a survivor and will only continue being so because I must ignore the ones crying for help. Too many, too late.
