An archaeologist who claimed to have found the bones of Cleopatra's murdered half-sister says they are pinning their hopes on new forensic techniques to conclusively identify the remains.
It was claimed that the remains of Princess Arsinöe IV, who was murdered more than 2,000 years ago on the orders of Egypt's queen Cleopatra, were the first relics of the Ptolemaic dynasty to be identified.

An ancient Turducken found?
I’m usually bothered by all the responses trying to make a funny on these sorts of threads, but the first thing to cross my mind when I rad that headline was “Turducken.”
Dang.
I would be interested to know how they can trace remains to a specific person, especially when its so far from home.
I was thinking the same thing. I know they found the tomb of Phillip of Macedon but I don’t think he was kin to Ptolemy.

This is not new news. It was on a TV program about a year or two ago. It was believed that the Princess was actually killed on the orders of Augustus Caesar to destroy any claims to the Egyptian throne.
FINALLY!.. whew, thats a load, I thought that we could wait 3000 years as usual, still waiting for Vince Foster, JFK, checking watch.. :)

She may be out of his “age bracket.” I think the South American mummy he was hitting on was a couple thousand years older. But then, he’d hit Monica Lewinski, so maybe he’s like Laz and will hit anything.
About forty five years ago I read an interesting book about Cleopatra and how she controlled Roman officers. According to the historians, she gave Caesar and the top command Monica Lewenski treatments. Same for Mark Anthony
She believed she was “stealing their power”.
Arsinoe was killed on the orders of Mark Antony, the triumvir controlling the East, to please her sister Cleopatra, in 41 BC.
Octavian didn’t get control of this region till about 10 years later.

if they dig further, they’ll find remains of a ancient Maury Povich stage set. “I Killed My Half-Sistah”
Cleopatra and Anthony could be real bast*rds when they had to be—that went with the territory of being a ruler (still is—if you doubt this just ask Princess Diana—but you might need a Ouija Board). I think that the great game they were playing forced them to do in this young woman—they lost the power struggle with Octavian/Augustus Caesar or a whole different Roman Empire might have existed—one with more of an Egyptian Flavor —one that might have not forced the Jews into rebellion, maybe one where Jesus didn’t threaten things??? What might have been if Cleopatra hadn’t fled at Actium?
