I just watched Romney's speech at the Global Initiative Conference and I was blown away. Foreign aid should be tied to getting people employment. All free enterprise - all the time. It was impressive. He even got a few digs in about Obama. It is a must see.
We don’t have the money for foreign aid let alone to employ people overseas.
Watched it too and thought it was a good approach to start the conversation.
Didn’t look like he was using a TelePrompTer either. Based on this Romney should have no problem wiping the floor with Obama in the debates.
I think he hit a home run.
A good indicator was the follow ups on the MSM stations which I tried to check out best I could with 1 TV.
CNN’s critique was decent.Up Chuck Todd, blew the whole thing off and gave it zip which indicated to me it was better than I thought.
As stated before Mit R will wipe the floor with the current WH Occupier.
The MSM is prepping for this already proven by their reporting that Obama hasnt been debating much but Mit has because he has been running for president for so long and a bunch of other poor excuses.
Meh. More bi-partisan (read liberal) glad handing in the name of globalism featuring the usual suspects.
Was very impressed with his speach and with WJC introduction.
I’m sure you loved the great praise he heaped on City Year.
I’m just watching it now via my link to C-SPAN. In my haste, I forgot to ping SE Mom.
Clinton introduced him with glowing words.
So how does the MSM dare contradict clinton’s praise of Romney’s accomplishments? Was this a poison dart from clinton to obama?
Sounded like it to me, considering clinton made such a splash at the convention. The “great and magnificent” bill clinton has spoken and the MSM basically told Mitt it’s all over but the crying.
Now what!! LOL.
I didn’t see this particular speech, but it sounds very much like what he’s been saying out on the stump for many months now. Romney was not my first choice, but I’ll be darned if his speeches aren’t downright patriotic. Compare that to Obama’s long list of apologies. The differences in how each man feels about America are quite stark.

If you didn’t see it... you owe it to yourself. I was not for Romney either but am praying I was WRONG.
I still have my “W stands for Women” poster!
I thought Romney’s speech was terrific. He was very much at ease, believed what he was saying. Unlike Obama’s wooden, monotone delivery; he saves his animation for the baloney of his campaign speeches. Romney was extremely comfortable in his own skin and had a great message. There’s no doubt in my mind that he’s a man of vision. It’s time for Obama to hit the nightclub-talk show-golf-party circuit where he’s more at home—fulltime; he’s moe than halfway there already. He’s been over his head from day one!
Thank you for the link, onyx! Now I can send it to everyone. This was a great speech—very Presidential! I thought it was just terrific. Couldn’t drag my husband away from reading yesterday’s news in today’s paper but he will watch it here.
Hiya GoldwaterChick!!!
So good to see you! I was happy to find it in C-SPAN’S Library because I missed it LIVE. Like you, I sent the link to one of my son’s in CA.
Thanks :) I’ll listen this afternoon!
:) Yep.
Thanks, onyx. I just passed it on to one of mine in Ohio. I thought it was awesome!
” Was very impressed with his speach and with WJC introduction.”
