The administration that saw fit to end NASA also saw fit to send our orbiters to blue states and snub HOUSTON.

Checked it out with Google Earth. You can’t acutally reproduce this image, even approximately, because GE doesn’t have a zoom capability. What they refer to as zoom is moving your POV closer, which is not the same thing as a camera zoom. Kind of ironic I guess because the name is predicated on the similarity of a camera zoom to actually “zooming” in closer, which is what GE does. When you try it though, all the angles change, as the various buidlings, and The Statue of Liberty of course, are at different distances. What you can do is “zoom” ( i.e. move, in simulation ) back, keeping the SoL in position, and in this way discover the probable camera position, which is at the end of a huge pier in Bayonne. BTW that reddish building to the right is in Brooklyn.

A jumbo jet being chased by a F-16 fighter jets buzzed Lower Manhattan this morning, panicking New Yorkers, many of whom were forced to evacuate their office buildings.
It was not a terrorist attack, however, but a photo opportunity for Air Force One, sources told the Post.

What is that white streak (spot? artifact?) above and slightly to the left of the shuttle and plane?
Probably a fighter jet escort.

Turns out there were 2 fighter jet escorts. They were very difficult to see on other pics and vids I checked.
Sending two escorts must be SOP.
