The escalade is an overpriced POS.
The door panels dont even line up.
It amazes me that the very people that scream green drive these things.
The very notion of a luxury 4x4 to get grocery is a farce.
I got noting against someone buying a maseratti or porche SUV but it’s really self defeating.
It’s not gonna handle luke a sports car or a 4x4 and it sure as hell aint green.
Its libtard bling.
Why is there only one liberal sh*t box on the list.. Something is bias here.
Balderdash!! I didn’t see the Chevy Volt on this list. The ability to self-ignite while commuting down the highway to an important meeting merits a #1 spot compared to these has-beens.
Even Forbes is selling out.
I notice that the Gubermint Motors “Dolt” was not on this list ... wonder why?
What the hell would Forbes know about off-roading? "Golly! This Jeep sure has a stiff suspension! It's one of the worst built cars ever!"
Forbes also needs to get a web designer who knows how to keep the 'Next' button in a pictoral from having to completely reload the page. I think they're going to have to hire a liberal to get their site right.
Jeep cops it in this list.
But the list, which cites Consumer Reports, also brings over the CR ‘mom’ bias i.e. any vehicle that isn’t cute, cheap, quiet and rides like a marshmallow (read: boring) receives bad marks.
Of course trucks and SUVs are going to generate more wind and road noise - it’s called physics but there are tradeoffs with any vehicle. As usual, CR’s objective criteria are anything but.
This is hilarious. The testers obviously don’t understand what they are testing...extreme bias...ie step in height complaint on a 4x4 3/4 ton truck and the ‘rough ride’ LOL...the turbo cummins diesel is the LEAST problematic of all the diesels...now if dodge could increase the quality build of the rest of the truck...ahhh.
Dodge Ram 2500 Diesel
In general, Consumer Reports finds heavy-duty three-quarter-ton pickups to be among the most problematic vehicles in production. Specifically, the diesel-powered version of the Ram 2500 is said to be at the back of the pack. It not only received worst ratings for poor reliability and excessive ownership costs, but it received among the lowest road-test scores among all 2012 models. While testers praised the trucks towing abilities and payload capacity (prime attributes among buyers with purposeful needs we should note) they criticized the Ram 2500 diesels ride and handling qualities, transmission performance, its noisy cabin and a too-high step-in height.

Goody! 2 of our 3 vehicles are on the list, but ours are older.
We have a 1995 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 pickup with the Cummons Turbo Diesel engine. It has been a real workhorse for us. It gets 20 MPG when we don’t have it loaded down. It has actually been quite economical over the years. And it has done everything we have asked of it. At 17 years old and nearly 200,000 miles, I would say it has proven itself.
We have a 2010 Jeep Liberty Sport 4x4. Right now we have snow tires on it and we are getting the mileage they list in the piece. In a month or so we will switch back to street tires and with them, and hubby driving like a little old lady, we will go back to getting 25 mpg highway. It is a great and economical car for an SUV, and with our ranch being 2.2 miles down a dirt road, that doesn’t get plowed of snow in the winter, it suits our needs beautifully!
All GM or Chrysler. No Fords on the list.
Chevrolet Tahoe/GMC Yukon
Essentially the proletariat versions of the Cadillac Escalade, the full-size Tahoe and Yukon SUVs prime virtues are their spacious interiors (at least in the first two rows of seats) and their towing abilities. Consumer Reports was less enamored of their handling and braking prowess and the fact that their third-row seatbacks dont fold flat to fully expand their cargo holds.

About 5 years ago, I was interested in trading my Montanna minivan for a Tahoe.
I thought surely there would be more passenger room in a Tahoe verses a minivan.
There wasn’t. The Tahoe was a big disappointment. The third row seat was a joke.
I didn’t buy it.
I’d gladly drive anyone of them if they gave me one for free.
Not sure I want to risk the life with the ‘Dumb runt shoebox’ model however.
CR doesn’t like cars with a stiff suspension. Well, that leaves out a number of European sports cars. I would much rather read reviews from a motoring magazine than the piffle from CR.
Imagine that ... the top 8 are built by companies that were bailed out.
Loving all that Consumer Union marxist agitprop!
Since when does FR allow marxist propaganda to be posted?
No FORDS on the list!......................;^)
Almost all GM and Chrysler products...gee I’m surprised. ;-)
To the original poster: if you’re going to post an article that contains a list, why not simply post the list?
1. Cadillac Escalade
2. Chevrolet Colorado/GMC Canyon
3. Chevrolet Tahoe/GMC Yukon
4. Dodge Avenger
5. Dodge RAM 2500 diesel
6. Jeep Compass
7. Jeep Liberty
8. Jeep Wranger Unlimited
9. Smart ForTwo
10. Toyota FJ Crusier
Surprised that Toyota “made the list”. I’ve got an ‘05 RAV4 that’s been the best-running car I’ve ever owned.
