A medical examiner in Wisconsin was arrested after authorities said she intended to train her dog using human bones from an autopsy.
Police launched an investigation into Traci J. England, 44, after she kept part of the spine from an autopsy she attended Jan. 3, according to a release from the Oneida County Sheriff's Office.
England was arrested on misconduct of public office and theft charges.
She told police she planned to keep the bones to train one of her dogs to recover human remains, Oneida County District Attorney Michael Bloom told the Wausau Daily Herald.
England is out on bond and has been placed on paid administrative leave. Her next court appearance is Jan. 30.

*Rimshot!*
That’s grotesque. My doctor used to have two skulls in his office but someone stole the female one.
The skull is pretty cool because it can tell you about the person’s age, race and sex.
That being said,I would not take off with one.

England is out on bond and has been placed on paid administrative leave. Her next court appearance is Jan. 30. This always bothers me about government employees. They are charged with a crime and they not only are not immediately fired but get to sit at home and get paid.
Where in the private sector do you get that kind of treatment?

My husband found a human skull in his leased hunting pasture in south Texas. He brought it home and I washed the dirt out of it but it creeped me out so badly he gave it back to the land owner.
I am interested in search and rescue/cadaver dogs, I wonder if that is really how they train them........ seems like it would be human flesh that they would be looking for.....

Did they ID the person? I would not have taken it because it could have been a crime scene.
I’d be creeped out,too.
The dogs would be looking for the smell of decaying remains, not bones.

It was in the area not far from the Rio Grand where wetbacks traveled on their way to a train track. It had been there for a number of years. There were no other bones and certainly no clothes or possessions. It could have been a murder or a rattle snake bite or heat exhaustion. No way to tell who it was or what happened or even when. My husband would have given it to the land owner when he found it but he was not available at the time.

You are suppose to call the cops when you find human remains.

You should have called the police because it could have been a crime scene. The skull could have belonged to a missing person.
To: Ditter
An animal could have scattered the bones, which is common. The person could have been dumped there with no clothes on.
To: left that other site
They would use decomposing flesh instead of bones. (As far as I know).
To: Morgana
I wonder what Dr. Garavaglia, from ‘Dr.G Medical Examiner’ would say.
I can just see her expression.
