Good morning gardeners. I cant believe it is already December, Brrrrrrrrr! It is 27 this morning in East Central Mississippi and is forecast to be in the mid 60s this afternoon. There are no plans to do any outside work for this gardener today. What needs to be done can wait until Saturday and Sunday when it is supposed to be in the high 60s and into the 70s. Just waiting for Spring now.

Good morning gardeners. Nothing much left to do inthe garden. There is still work to do, but it’s too cold to work. The remainder of garden preparation moves indoors and the outdoors will have to wait for spring. Maybe some fallen tree work will get done, but not much else.
I hope all of you will stop by.

Good morning on this chilly morn, not much to do in the garden until spring. Hopefully next years harvest will be more bountiful, rather slim across the board this year. Late start due to a trip and then the weather was not to good either rain at the wrong time or none.
Frost on the ground this morning! It was beautiful. Greetings to all my gardening FReepers!
We are finally getting a nice soaking rain here. It should be raining most of the weekend. That may save a number of trees here. I heard that there are places that have little moisture as far as 20’ down.
One community - Horseshoe Bay - is going to cut down every cedar tree that is less than 6” diameter since they drink so much water. I wish they would cut every cedar tree from IH 10 to the Tex / Mex border.
Good Morning!
My Veggies are loving this cool weather...and I will have more lettuce than I know what to do with in a few months.
That’s OK...I’ve been eating a lot of salad lately and have lot over 20 POUNDS! Hallelujah!
Everything is frosty here in upstate S.C. but the collards, kale, beets, and lettuce don’t seem to mind.
Mrs. Augie has rediscovered our Jack LaLanne Power Juicer and has been hard at the row of red russian kale that I left in the garden for the chickens.
We have an overcast sky this a.m., hopefully it will bring the rain promised by the forecasters. We sure do need it.
Just put in three honey locust. No moisture three feet deep. Not only are the prairie grasses dead, the ground is starting to look bare.
If we don’t get rain...haven’t had a good rain since a year ago October, there will be nothing for the cattle to eat in the spring. Ranchers on dry land are selling their underweight cattle.
I’m praying that our little, local church will be done with silly time church and get down to some serious praying.
We need the rain. We need a new Awakening in our land more.
A Christmas scene, for sure.
That is a really nice picture, magslinger. (I love how quiet it gets after a snow like that... just silence)
We’ve had several nice showers here in the Austin area this morning. Nothing heavy, but there has been some runoff.
Meet the world's heaviest insect, which weighs three times more than a mouse... and eats carrots
I know I said no more pics but I wanted to show everyone a lettuce I picked just a couple of days ago called Four Seasons or Mervielle d'Quatre Saisons. It's gotten down to 25 degrees here and it came through great. Definitely a keeper.
Got what I think is the last picking of greens off the plot. If they're still good I'll strip the rest today. Hard to imagine eating fresh salad around here December 1st. Worth the effort, and I even had 'help'.:
Got to put the garlic and onions in this weekend and get the tunnel set up and clean the flats for starts next year then this boy is DONE.
What gorgeous lettuce! Good job!
