They may be the height of fashion but the health risks will bring you back down to earth with a bump.
Five-inch heels are becoming the most sought-after shoes on the high street as shoppers take their lead from celebrities such as Victoria Beckham.

Fine. They'll get you what you crave. Attention. Then you can claim *sexual harassment* and sue. It's all the Fashion.
I don't know about all that, and maybe you have some inside info on the subject, but all I said was that if women want to wear them, the should be able to.They're not hurting anyone but themselves.

Oh, but I should. I’m just a really nice person so I’ll keep it to myself.

Yeah, mine were great, until the Neoprene soles went smooth. Then they just became dangerous as hell up on the trails in the Cascades.
Now I wear Asolos. They fit like a glove. I’ve worn them hiking, snow-shoeing and hunting. Never had an issue with them.

They’re not dangerous if women only wear them while lying down.

Umm, big difference.
In the Chinese example, little girls had their feet bound in their childhood in order to force them to grow malformed. Once done, there is no going back. It also causes women to walk with a very small gait and awkwardly, with shoes or in bare feet.
The high heels are only a look while the women choose to wear them. And the look that drove the development of the high heel had less to do with how it made the foot look and more to do with how it formed the calf (contracting the muscle high in the back of the calf and creating a greater taper from knee to ankle).

Your comment is crude and doesn’t belong here at FR, imo.

Well, I love high heels and wore 3 or 4 inch heels for decades 5 days a week. Now that I’m “older”, I still wear 3 inch heels everyday to work.
No foot problems and no callouses or bunions.

I subscribe to the notion that shoes should be practical.

Yep. Those can sometimes be very long days..

Me too. Work boots are good enough for everthing except jogging. Discount sneakers take over for that.
