According to recent polls, the three leading GOP candidates right now are Cain, Romney, and Gingrich. If you had to vote today, who would you vote for?

I agree, these tax plans, whether Cains or others, have to include repealing the 16th first!
Cain
54%
Gingrich
42%
Romney
4%
Choosing among those 3, Gingrich. Bogus poll, since there was no way to vote for Perry, still my first choice.
Newt, Perry
How is introducing a whole new field of federal tax a "safeguard" without first abolishing the current oppressive income tax? The only thing that safeguards is potential for more socialism. 10%-15% flat tax across the board - either income tax or sales tax but not both.
These folks are sending cards and letters by the tens of thousands, asking her to get back into the race:
Sarah Palin's Earthquake Movement
She hinted a few weeks back that she would reconsider her decision if she saw "something as big as the '64 quake."
I linked it too!
As I explained. Right now in the current tax code there IS no safegaurd. You can always hide the tax hike as a “tax on business” or a “Tax on the rich”.
by spreading the tax base to cover EVERYONE with a sales tax everyone pays so everyone knows a tax hike will effect them
9-9-9 elminiates the political class’s ability to divide the people into payers and takers
I’m still with Cain. Newt would be next. After that, I’d have to vote for my cat. Ok, maybe my cat second.
You’re projecting, bobk333. TGO has a large national audience. Newt has comported himself superbly in all of the debates. Herman Cain is also moving up in the polls while Romney is falling! I happen to think that Romney supporters are going to Newt.
Great minds, eh? Reminds me, it's about time I sent her another letter.
Here is a poll you can vote on!
“If we show some courage, Herman Cain and the Tea Party will win...”
Many things can change between now and Convention. That said, Cain is the most consistant candidate on the conservative side. I like Newt, but he has too much baggage. A Cain/Gingrich ticket, though might be good. Or a Cain/Palin ticket. ‘Balance’ might suggest a Cain/Perry ticket, but I would likely have a choking fit.
The ‘9’s’ only suggest to me that Cain recognizes a need for major tax overhaul. Given an adequate Congressional majority, I can see some changes in the overall scheme of tax things. As for the 16th, how do you repeal an ‘illegal’ amendment? :)
A sales tax would seem to have a lot going for it but of course not without getting rid of the 16th Amendment, which would be a fairly miraculous achievement.
Likes on Facebook, as of this morning:
Cain 369,857
Romney 1,173,357
Gingrigh 165,190
Paul 580,186
Perry 170,671
Bachmann 17,757
Santorum 31,876
Huntsman 22,563
I was about to stop there, but thought Id check this, just for perspective:
Palin 3,252,681
Newt and who? You mean Katy Perry? Or Refrigerator Perry? Former Defense Secretary Perry? No, Gaylord Perry. Right?
She’s the absolute best!

Its a shame to see people abandoning Cain and going to Gingrich because of some unfounded allegations trumped up by the Establishment Republicans and the MSM.
What will they do when Gingrich comes under similar attacks, which he surely will if he becomes successful? Most people who have flipped dont even really know what Gingrich is about they just like that he comes off as authoritative in the debates.
Cain supporters, please do not waver do not let the Establisment, The Left and the MSM win by turning, running and jumping ship so easily.
If we show some courage, Herman Cain and the Tea Party will win.

I don’t think Gingrich’s recent rise in the polls is necessarily coming at the expense of Cain and the allegations against him. I think many conservatives, including myself, are liking Gingrich’s fire, his take-no-BS from the media and leftist debate moderators, and his command of the issues he has consistently displayed during the debates. I’m convinced Newt would make Obama look really bad in a head-to-head debate.
Gingrich has also come under fire many times before, including the moment he was sworn in as Speaker of the House in 1995. He knows what to expect and how to handle the pressure. Gingrich is not a perfect candidate, but he has enough of a conservative record that would make him a FAR better and more desirable president than that Marxist a-hole Obama.
We should do what we can do which is, sure, abolish the tax code by creating a simple flat income tax across the board (no "political classes" if that's what you're worried about). But don't create a whole new tax landscape until the 16th amendment is repealed.
Even now, she remains our nation's best hope.
