Having watched several of the debates, I am becoming convinced that Newt might be the only one that can beat Obama. He will destroy Obama in the Presidential debates. Can he overcome the destruction that Big Media rained down on him in the 90's?
His vision for America is sitting on the sofa next to the devil and striking a bargain on global warming. No thanks. Perry is not perfect, but he is pushing coal. Cain has joined with the Koch brothers. Those two at least believe in American economic strength. Let the rest of world implement Pelosi's global warming crap, we need to firmly reject it.
Did she say where she got that quote because I have been unable to verify it .
Perhaps you are looking at the problem wrong. Consider the possibility the wives were vain and not up to the stress of being the wife of a great man. They quit.
Is Newt the bad guy or the victim of selfish shrews and as always a vindictive press.
Perhaps you were duped into the view the presstitutes wanted you to have
Oh com’on, any of this crop of candidates could beat Obama, that’s not an issue. Newt’s a smart guy and he’s done a number of admirable thing during his career, but his political future is dead. Deal with it.
That could be. What are Newt’s values? I don’t have any problem figuring it out listening to someone like Palin. When I listen to Newt, all I hear is how great his ideas are.
It is his vision, his vision for say 50 years out, that is the value. He was killed because he could envision a future others could not see and hated. He was slaughtered in the same manner as Cain is now.
If you demand Christ like perfection you will always be disappointed. There is no such person. Being able to have a vision of America as it can be is or should be a powerful value.
His vision developed the Contract With America for which he was slain. He was a powerful Speaker and accomplished more than any of the other candidates. He is Pro America.
I am not a Newt Supporter because I like Cain better.
I don’t know, how many wives has he had? I have been divorced and have remarried and been with this wife for 30 years. Over 50% of Americans hve been divorced I’d rather listen to a divorced man than one who is still with his wife but screws around or chases skirts. The problem is that almost everybody has skeltons in their closet, especially politicians. but we never hear about it until they run for president. We seem to invest alot of time, effort and money in these people and then find out they have clay feet.
I like Newt because he has the expierience to get in there and get the job done. The question is can we keep him in the right dierection once he is in? Then can we do the same for any of the others?
No Newts is good Newts, IMO.
He was part of the bunch that squandered an insane amount of political capital and essentially drove a steak in the heart of the Reagan Revolution by alienating working class whites. Newt was a big part of why Perot walked away with nearly 20% of the popular vote as a 3rd party candidate. Don’t fool yourself. He is as big a beltway RINO phony as you’ll find. Just another of the old guard trying to co-opt and pre-empt the TEA surge.
No sale for me. Your mileage may vary.
It was in a letter to his wife and I did go and verify it.
Truman's Racial Ideas Changed, Letters Show
And again from a Google Books page of one his books:
Newt may inspire some folks on the deep conservative right, but that's about it. In my opinion, he's not going to attract enough Independents and swing voters to carry him over the top in the general, or even enough solid conservative voters, for that matter. The man just ain't that attractive a personality, which is a trait that effective leaders (and presidential campaign winners) all have.
Then there's the 'baggage' problem. Up until now, Newt hasn't had to face a Palinoscopy, because he hasn't threatened to catch fire with the voters. Let him get any closer to front runner status, and it will begin. I don't think he'll survive it. Not from the left, or the right.
Man these democrats sure have a lot of skeletons....visions of Robert(KKK)Byrd.
I had narrowed it down to either Cain or Newt. Cain’s handling of the harassment issue caused me to scratch him off my list. I want a president who is capable and who can deal with the tough stuff. Cain showed me he doesn’t have it. Newt, based on his past accomplishments, has the ability and based on the way he is handling his candidacy, he has the maturity to be president. His ‘baggage’ is not a concern for me. They all have baggage.
In case you missed the irony, let me clear it up.....the media will tear up Newt over this a heck of a lot more than you think. Remember the book deal he signed while speaker?
Righto! Clinton was impeached, but the Repubs also lost the House thanks to Newt’s leadership. You must have forgotten that tidbit.
