One should always understand that we are all different so that it is impossible to suggest a single form of treatment that will work in every case and for every person. However, there is a very simple technique that has often shown to be effective in many cases of tinnitus (ringing in the ears.) Any person who is afflicted by this very unpleasant condition would do well to at least give this simple technique a try.
To perform this technique, put the palms of your hands over your ears. The fingers are on the back of the head. The middle fingers point towards each other and are on the base of the skull just above the point where the skull ends. Now lift the index fingers and place them on top of the middle fingers and then snap the index fingers off the middle fingers so that they beat the skull like a drum. In fact, with your hands covering your ears, the sound may be quite loud and may indeed sound like the beating of a drum. Click here to download a video clip demonstrating this procedure. (The video clip can be played using either Windows Media Player or Quick Time.)
Repeat the drumming about 40 to 50 times. Depending on the severity of the condition, one could repeat the technique several times a day.

Comment from Linda in Bealeton, US: Woke up being driven crazy by ringing in right ear. Went online to find a natural remedy. Came upon your ear drumming technique. It worked instantly & I didn't even know if I was doing it properly. Thank you!
Thanks for the tip Red, my tinnitus is so bad at night when the house is quiet it sounds like I’m in the middle of a huge swamp filled with crickets and other insects. If I think about it it drives me crazy.
Ha Ha True that.
Use an iPatch..........
Thread Winner.
Thanks...
If you have ping lists, please use them for this thread.............
I have a minor, occasional version of tinnitus but happened on to a similar technique by myself. It does work. But not recommended to do out in public!
It seems to recalibrate or re-zero the auditory system, like you would a fine scale.
Ping.
It worked.
Now I can hear my wife.
That is amazing! I’ve had ringing for as long as I can remember. I can usually ignore it during the day with all the other sounds, but I can really hear it at night. Tried this technique and the ringing stopped. Don’t know how long lasting it is, but it is easy enough to do throughout the day. Thank you.
Well, everything thing has some unexpected side effects......
Wow!!

“on to” = “onto”
I have had this hateful condition for years. We used to live near a rural highway and I said it sounded like a truck was coming but it never passed the house. Now it is more like a squealing than a roar. I have tried this once but no change, I won’t give up I’ll try it some more.
Heck, I made sure Mrs. Cajun wasn't around when I tried it :^)
I'm starting to think there may be something to it.
Pretty sure I got mine from shooting hand cannons, when I was a lot younger and dumber, without hearing protection.
Any tips on removal of ticks from my dogs?
