She should have taken those kids to a military Hospital so they could see those who decided that even though they also loved their children, they understood that their duty was to our nation and the millions of people who depend on them....
Sacrificing for the country is taking care of your kids......a leader goes places where others are not sure where to go.....and I hear in Sarah's voice in the Bob and Mark show how MUCH she wanted to run....
If Sarah had entered she would have gotten $50 million dollars the first day, or more.....
Sarah should re-examine her decision and change her mind for our America...her kids will understand later.....
Why would anyone want the job right now? No one is going to be able to fix the economy. Three wars stuck in the mud. Whoever gets the job may regret it.
I like Bachmann’s constitutional stance, but she’s losing any traction she had.
I like Cain, not sure I like 9-9-9, though. Too gimmicky, too much government meddling. Wish he’d stick to cutting and disbanding unconstitutional agencies and programs, cut the spending, cut the reach of government, cut the regulations, cut the taxes, phase out SS and Medicare, repeal ObamaCare, repeal the 16th and abolish the IRS. We don’t need no stinking high taxes or 9-9-9 if we simply abide by the constitution and cut the damned government.
And if Perry’s the one who wins the nomination, I’ll support him. I think the vaccination issue is a tempest in a teapot and the rock is even less. The real problem is the fence and the in-state tuition and I believe he’s now seeing that the rest of America doesn’t agree with his stance on those issues even if the Texas State legislators did. He’s now being taken to the woodshed on that. We’ll see how he adjusts and if his adjustment is sincere. I’m hoping he sees the light. He’s had a lot of executive experience, seems to be well liked by the majority of the voters in Texas (a great conservative state) and appears to have some great successes there even in a down economy.
And I’m with you all the way against Romney. No way in hell would I support that lying, card-carrying progressive SOB even if he wins the nomination!
“Sarah Palin is in a very powerful position in 2012. She’s Kingmaker.”
Perhaps. Do you know anyone who will base their vote on who she recommends? I don’t, nor will it influence my vote.
Everyone in the public eye gets death threats. If you are a politician or celebrity, you deal with it. Anyone who claims that is a factor in their political calculation is just BSing. "Oh I was getting death threats" is right up there with "needed to spend more time with my family" on the list of excuses politicians use to bow out of a race or quit their jobs. And you can't "guarantee" Palin gets more death threats than Obama, in fact I rather doubt it since her position as news commentator is not even close to as significant as Commander in Chief. Palin didn't want to run for president, period. She's not running indie, she's not going to reconsider because of some silly "draft Palin" attempt. It's done, over, people need let it go.
Anyone who continues to put faith in her after last week is certainly delusional. And I speak as a Palinista going back to 2007 when I first heard about her.
Any residual loyalty I had to her vanished as Polybius put the pieces together in a post on another thread, which I will repeat here. Read post 203

So tell us UC, who's YOUR top contender? After 6 years, you dropped back in to the site to post your anti-Palin posts? Where ya been homie?
Then why didnt you? Who stopped you from running for mayor or state rep? How much would you actually give?
As you’re one of the leading PDSers out there, you’ll excuse me if I disregard your opinion.
Ifyou think she is smart enough to be POTUS, why do you question her decision not to run?
It's her life!
Yes.
I am sorry they disrespect a wife and mother’s decision that, for reasons best known to her and her family, something such as running for president didn’t work for them in the end.
You have no idea what is going on - or has already happened - behind the scenes and no one is going to talk about it with you.
If my beloved mother had been savaged like Sarah Palin has been, I would not want her to expose herself to more abuse.
It is easy to say what someone else “should” do, but it is harder to really understand their world.
I would have supported Sarah, but I really understand why she would not want to put her family through more harassment.
Yes, we could have used her energy in the White House, but we may have that in the future. Right now, she can lend her voice to those conservatives who are running for Congress, and for whoever will be the nominee for the Republicans. But I don't blame her kids ONE BIT for asking her to sit this one out. They know what happened in 2008, and can imagine how much worse it will be this time around. In four or eight years, they'll be older, and gone from home. They will get knocked around again, but they'll be better able to handle it.
I have often wondered how many people actually vote because of an endorsement.
In particular, the "financial motives" meme is blown out of the water by her having turned down the (reported) $10 million for a 2nd season of Sarah Palin's Alaska. AND her timing the announcement for the day after The Undefeated was released.
I think she intended to run, and something happened just around the time of the McGinniss book (see her interview on Sep.20, can't remember if it was Greta van Sustern or Hannity) but she looked like someone had just let a gallon of blood out of her veins.
I surmise, with no other evidence than that, and her statement, that there were real and credible bodily threats made against her or her loved ones. That, and/or news that the GOP establishment would *actively* and *publicly* work to sabotage her campaign: the Nicole Wallace book I think was only the beginning.
Even Palin cannot fight a two-front war against her own party and the Dems with a hostile press reporting everything against her.
Cheers!
I like Mrs. Palin, however I didn't envy her (or Mr. Cain for that matter) if she was going to run. I'm sure she prayed on it, and did what she thought was best.
It will be extremely difficult and dangerous for any President to try and cut down on the size of the Government Beast. The Democrats will vocally try to thwart any of his/her measures, and most of the Republicans will try to sabotage anything that will reduce their power. And the army of lobbyists and media will do all they can destroy a President that attempts such a feat. He/She will need our prayers. Right now I'm hoping Mr. Cain will take the gauntlet - but I don't envy him.
Love your tagline. AYBS is one of my guilty pleasures.
It may be unfair to me, them, the nation, but I would never put my kids' lives at risk for my career.
And I would never think I was indispensable. That is too much like Messianic thinking. And that, I believe, would probably creep out Sarah as well.
The Founders didn't bother with what their children wanted or didn't want, when making their decisions about the nation. Their WIVES did that for them. ;o)
