When my wife and I were shopping for groceries Saturday we picked up 2 cases of "ThrowBack" sodas(Mountain Dew, Pepsi).
Smart phones are stupid. ;-)
Coca Cola sold in some places in Florida is different—referred to as mexican coke—tried it and liked it better—it is in bottles, too!

Yes, the cane sugar is better. Noticed a big difference in the taste of Coke made in the Caribbean while I was in St. Lucia last year.
My son adores Dr. Pepper (from his visits to the South). I usually stock up on the throw back packs when I see it. (He drinks about two cans a week so it isn’t like he is just drinking the soda). He said the throwback Dr. Pepper is definitely a cleaner taste and he can definitely taste the difference. (I wish I could try it but sugar sodas don’t agree with me at all).

It is the same price in our stores. I’m thinking with all the corn going into ethanol production, HFCS might not be as cheap as it once was?
You’re exactly right. Recently my mom asked me to buy a pepsi for her as she had not had one in years. So I bought the ‘throwback’/bottled and found out that it has real sugar in it.
I don’t know that I agree with you on this. I think the regular coke tastes better than the Pesach coke. I usually get off sodas all together during Pesach. Of course every one else I know seems to like the Pesach coke better. Its all a matter of taste.
I think the throwback sodas has as much to do with labeling as it does with sugar vs. high fructose corn syrup.
But even then I prefer the modern Mountain Dew. I don’t bother with the throwbacks.
I had no idea that coke does this. Is it limited to certain areas in the country...I've never heard of this before. Coke is my favorite although I don't drink it too often. I keep waiting for them to put out bottled coke (as in glass)
I live in Dublin, Texas. Dublin Dr. Pepper is currently under seige by the parent company which has lobbied a lawsuit against them. Dublin DP’s decision to stick with the original recipe FOR OVER A HUNDRED YEARS has suddenly become a novel idea among all the major soft drinks and the parent company is suddenly wanting more peice of the pie. Dublin DP has gotten ALOT of support all across the nation. Our own town recently donated $25,000 for their legal support.

LOL! Looks like it was thrown back too far. Nice to see they use genuine cocaine for an experience that's the bees knees.
For a while, “throwback” was actually less expensive (I suppose corn prices being up had something to do with it), by about a buck a 12 pack.
But I imagine some bean counter thought: “why pass the savings on to the customer?”
I am surprised they haven’t marketed it and made it more costly.
OTOH - since finding out that Pepsi has contracted with Senomyx to use their fetal stem cell assay method for taste testing (probably a good way to find out what is in rival products, too), I don’t drink them anymore.

Yeah, I think it’s a regional thing, so if you have a bunch of Jews around, look for the yellow caps around Passover.
