Perry will be POTUS

On Saturday,Texas Governor Rick Perry announced his intentions to be the next President of the United States. I will go on record and predict he will indeed.

Mr. Obama will not win another term unless we have some economic fairy waive her magic wand and change the world in a short 16 months. He is weak and worn out. Behind the scenes, his presidency is in chaos and in a few short months, he has another budget cutting battle that will cause him to lose all around. He will try to act like he knows what he is doing, but the majority of America for the first time is not buying.

Think back of the people you have met who said they voted for Obama. After your initial shock of why would they be so dense, you can see they fell for the empty rhetoric and empty promises. Now, have some of those shared with you they would never vote for him again? There are many that go burned the first time and will never again. On top of that, the Tea Party and Republican base is fired up. They were not in 2008 as they were tired and worn out after 8 years of a big spending RINO. Add to this that the Democratic base is also disappointed in their savior and the path to re-election for the soup kitchen organizer from Chicago looks very difficult. Saying Mr. Obama is the least qualifed person to ever hold the office of the President is the biggest understatement of the century.

The rest of the Republican field really only involves two, Michelle Bachman and Mitt Romney. The others will be gone by February.

I met Mrs. Bachman last summer and had lunch with her. What an amazing woman and fighter. She stands for exactly what I stand for and most on the far right. And she is not afraid to mix it up. The problem will be once she gets outside her home state area, it is going to be tough for her. And sad also to say that it is still hard for woman to be elected POTUS, especially at a time like this. She would make a great President, but it is a challenge that will prove to be insurmountable.

Mr. Romney is another story. I feel if Rick Perry was not in the race, Romney would be the next President. But those are now just dreams of his. Mr. Romney is a fine man and stands for much of what we stand for, BUT sometimes you just do not know. His flop-flopping through the years has created doubt. If he was the only game in town, one could plug your nose and look past that doubt if the only other choice was Mr. Obama

Romney-care is something Mr. Romney will never get over, no matter how he spins it. It looks like Obamacare will be front and center at the Supreme Court during the height of the presidential campaign, and that is not good for Mr. Romney. And during a time where the Tea Party holds great influence, Mr. Romney is too far left of all of that and when he tacks right, he is hard to believe.

The only other wild-card is Sarah Palin. Mrs. Palin is a force to be reckoned with and would make a great President. But I feel if she ran, the campaign would not be about issues and Mr. Obama would win. Hopefully she continues to just be thorn in Obamas side and keeps everyone honest. I do not feel she will run. In fact, I will go so far as to assume her and Mr. Perry have had a few phone conversations over the last few months. But I do believe Sarah Palin will have her day, just not over the next 4-8 years.

That leaves Mr. Perry. Unless there are some huge skeletons in the closet, he will be the next POTUS. Jobs and the economy is the real game in town and he can talk it and back it up. Obama can talk it, but has never had a real one. Mr. Perry is also not afraid of a fight, just ask Kay Baily!

I have two suggestions for Mr. Perry.

1. Bring back Ronald Reagans line, "Are you better off than you were 4 years ago?" and repeat and repeat.

2. Say the pledge of allegience before every campaign event. Bring back some pride of country and try to bring folks together. And say the pledge in Spanish and English. I understand Mr. Perry speaks Spanish and that population needs to hear him loud and clear.

In closing, if John McCain would have been elected, America would have continued to die a slow death. Mr. Obama has woke the sleeping giant and his polices, as painful as they are, in the end will be the death of liberalism for many generations. And Mr. Perry will be riding in shortly to make sure of that.

I'm not against Perry, but a lot of people seem to be rushing the coronation.

It seems to me that the pro-Perry people are pushing hard and declaring the race finished in an effort to convince Sarah not to come in. Perhaps the Perry people worry about that matchup.

There will be a lot of denial visible in the responses posted, largely from the Paulettes who like to lash out in anger from their alternate universe, but I believe that the article is absolutely true.

I see nothing short of a huge screw up by the Perry camp, or some Earth-shattering revelation about him, that can prevent his election.

The right man at the right time.

There is one variable we should never forget when making predictions - that of voter fraud. And, the Democrats do that better than any element of any society in the world.

The Pledge in Spanish? That's called pandering, and it would enrage the base Perry would be attempting to energize.

How about you give out translation cards from Spanish to English so Latin Americans who wish to learn it in English are able to?

As much as I like Sarah Palin, I just don’t see the majority voting for a woman...times have not changed that much! Women like Sarah are paving the way nicely but America’s future woman President likely is not yet born.

Yep. The idea that if Palin were the candidate it would not be about issues, but if Perry were it would is just stupid.

And Perry doesn’t have a chance if he can’t beat Palin. She is the best political talent we’ve had in a generation and JR Perry simply isn’t.

I’m still holding out for a Palin run. I think, if she runs, she’ll take a page out of Reagan’s ‘80 and ‘84 playbooks, and marginalize her opponent. Reagan spent some time talking about the horrible economy and leadership, but he also spent A LOT of time talking about his love of America, how our best days were still ahead etc. That resonated with voters. Sarah can honestly talk about a love of America and patriotism. Our Dear Leader has neither. Add in her beating him up on jobs and you have a winning formula.

With all that said, I do like Rick Perry and would gladly vote for him. I think our Dear Leader’s will have a coronary trying to minimize the jobs creation in Texas.

I think it is still too early to predict who will win the Republican nomination, but I will make a prediction.

Whomever is running on the Republican ticket will beat Obama.

Lincoln said it best. You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you can not fool all the people all the time.

...Republican Gov. Rick Perry earned applause from the crowd [at a meeting of the Texas Border Coalition] when he said strategic fencing along the border makes sense but the idea of a complete wall or fence is “preposterous.”

Instead, he wants the federal government to establish a guest-worker program that will allow the government to track workers, he said.

...Perry was asked after his speech whether it was a good or bad idea to do away with citizenship as a birthright [via proposed Texas legislation].

“I think any of those types of legislation that create divisions are bad,” he said. “We need to look at ways to be bringing people together rather than driving wedges between them.”
That failure, combined with Perry’s comments that the U.S.-Mexico border fence was “idiocy” and that efforts to deny citizenship to U.S.-born children of illegal immigrants are “divisive,” have rung in the ears of anti-illegal immigration conservatives.

If we do not control illegal immigration, I guarantee this country is gone. Rick Perry is another George W. Bush on Illegal Immigration.

Perry has said that the Border Fence is Stupid,

Perry has said that he is against denying citizenship to baby’s born in the U.S. of illegal immigrants,

Perry is for providing in-state tuition benefits to children of illegal immigrants. (That is an incentive for the Mexican illegals to keep their children in school in Texas, knowing that they will get what only U.S. Citizens in Texas receive)

We had George W. Bush, who was awful on illegal immigration, we do not need George W. Bush Jr., or Rick Perry.

Just because we want to get rid of Obama, does not mean we need to elect a loser on illegal immigration, an issue, as important as the economy.

We don’t get tough on Illegal Immigration, we are done as a country.

Rick Perry will never get my vote, because of his weakness on illegal immigration and I am an American of Hispanic Heritage.

Perry can make his own quote: DO YOU WANT 4 MORE YEARS OF THIS? OR DO YOU WANT 4 MORE YEARS OF WHAT WE ARE IN NOW?

I haven't followed Perry much since I'm not a Texan. I thought his speech on Saturday was a good one, certainly the kind of words that Americans should be hearing from their elected officials. Maybe a strong presidential candidate will put some starch in the spines of our GOP reps in Washington. This party is leaderless right now, and it shows.

Perry probably isn't perfect on all the issues, but I doubt we'll find a candidate that is. I know I've seen a few threads here that have pointed out some potential flaws in Sarah Palin's record that would make her a less than perfect candidate. But most of us would vote for her if we had the opportunity, so I see no reason why Perry couldn't get our votes provided he isn't a total RINO. But we'll see how things play out in the next few months.
